I was at Walmart today, and I was thrilled they had some cherries. I love dark , sweet cherries, and of course I had to buy some. I love cherries because they only sell the fresh ones for about a month in the summer. You can buy the frozen or jarred ones all year, but fresh cherries are a summer treat. They are really good for you as well. Do you like cherries?

I am not a big fan of cherries. I will eat them if it comes with a dessert but that's about it. I know that cherries are supposed to be high in antioxidants.
I can eat cherry flavored things, or juice mixed with cherry.

I love cherries. I especially love eating them raw and unprocessed.

@snowy22315 I don't know, I have just never really liked the taste. I think I was first introduced to them in ambrosia. My grandmother used to make it every year at Christmas, maybe even Thanksgiving too.

most of my life, the only cherries i knew were the small shiny red ones on desserts like cakes, ice cream, and in canned mixed fruit used in fruit salads. i think they're called maraschino cherries.
many years later, when i was already working, someone from overseas shipped fresh dark cherries to my boss as a gift. wow! they tasted so good! i couldn't stop eating them!

Yes, the maraschino cherries are often used in desserts. I like the fresh picked ones off the tree.

I have never found one with a worm. My mother picked them for money when she was a kid..she never mentioned worms..but she did say sometimes there were spiders in the trees so she wasn't keen on the job for that reason.

@snowy22315 I open my cherries because I found the little white worms inside when I was a kid. I am horrified at the idea to eat one.

As much as I like the fruit..I am not really keen on cherry pie. I am not sure why. I would rather have other flavors.

It's not usual around where I'm from. I was only able to eat fresh cherries from a bar! But I love it than the bottled version.
