I feel ill but I can't describe it.

Could it have been the apples? I began to feel sick after eating Terikyaki Chicken with Mixed Vegetables and then a little later a Granny Smith Apple. I thought it might have been the Teriyaki Chicken that made me feel ill. That day I was feeling really ill, so much so that I had to take some pepto bismol. Last night I had an apple and now this morning I am feeling a little.. dodgy. I can't explain it really. It's not indigestion, it's not quite nausea and it's certainly not hunger. The good thing is that I took a half dose of Pepto and feel a bit better now. I wonder if the acidity of the granny smith just doesn't agree with me? I do think that the Teriyaki Chicken was part of my problem the other day but it seems that the granny smith has done it's damage a well. Do apples make you feel ill?

@Courtlynn I am lucky in that I don't get them very frequently. I guess that might be why they feel so bad when I do get them.

Apples often cause stomach bloating.....is that bismol thing an antacid of some sorts?

I am using something similar to this : It helps with stomach acid, so yes I guess an antacid.
Experience relief from heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea with the Original Pepto-Bismol liquid formula.

No, but I was having some indgestion and something like heartburn for a couple of days but I discovered what it was..I had a lemon in some ice tea that was starting to ferment. Once I got rid of that I was fine.

@snowy22315 I need to buy Tums. I hardly ever use medicine if I can help it. Even Antacids. I had a family member go get me Pepto a few months ago and that was only after I couldn't sleep because of the pain in my stomach. I'm weird that way I guess.

Hmm. You know I had lemon in my Arnold Palmer the other day. I wonder if the lemons were starting to go bad? I had that on Friday when I went out with the family.

Never had a problem with apples. Maybe the chicken wasn't thoroughly cooked.

It could have been that but none of the pieces I had tasted like they were raw. You never can tell. It's not the first time that food from there has made me feel ill. The first time I am not sure what it was.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It doesn't need to look raw to be under cooked.

It may have been the lack of water in between eating all of those things? Plus it sounds like you ate acid on top of acidic food. So maybe next time have some water or a cup whatever type of milk you like.

That's not a bad idea. I have been slacking on my drinking of water. I haven't had any today at all.but I am reaching for it now. Thank You!

I am feeling better now, thank you. Yes it could have been the chicken, it could have been a combination of it all.

Acidity in it. I think the first time was the teriyaki chicken but I can't account for how I felt earlier today. I'm just glad I'm over it.

i feel ill but i can't describe it too but it's not from apple it's from spicy food.

I can't handle spicy food as much as I once could. Our bodies can't take too much spice as we age.

I wouldn't have thought a ripe apple would make you feel unwell, though I know that unripe ones can do that.
• United States
23 Jul 18
This one was perfectly ripe. Might be that my body can't handle the acidic / sour stuff anymore. Stomach issues like that do run in my family.

I once got terrible heartburn from apple juice. I have not had apples in some time. I guess in warm or hot weather there are many things that could make you feel ill. Hope you feel much better soon.

That half dose of pepto made me feel better. I wasn't eating anything until I felt completely better. I went to eat Mexican food I was feeling that much better. Mexican is usually a weekly or biweekly treat.

It's frustrating, isn't it? I hope I can manage a different type of apple or figure out what it was that was making me sick.

Green apples make me ill, as in unripe apples. I would vote for the chicken, but these days any food could have dangerous bacteria. Every week it is something new, lettuce, chicken, frozen vegetables, or whatever. I think workers do not follow sanitary rules and some deliberately or carelessly pollute the food.

I didn't soak these apples in water and vinegar. I did, however, run them undr hot water and wipe my hands on them to hopefully get any wax or pesticide off. I used to have no trouble eating these as they are my favorite type. I am sure there are some workers who do not follow sanitary guidelines for sure.

It might be the acid. That would do it. I don't eat apples often, or applesauce because they just don't sit well with me.

I know the majority of the females in my family have had issues with acidic foods. Maybe it's now my turn to have to deal with it.
