My house got a very late spring cleaning

A friend I haven’t seen in about 20 years was planning to be in town and bring her family by to visit yesterday. I cleaned all day Friday to get the house looking good. It was very overdue for a thorough dusting.
Friday night I watched my boyfriends dog for a few hours while they went to the town carnival. Then they all spend the night after and each kid enjoyed playing guitar hero.
Saturday morning my daughter and I went to a town wide yard sale and we found some great treasures. I found something for everyone.
In the photo is the lord of the rings chess set I bought my boyfriend and his son for $2. I took the top off the box so you could see the playing pieces better.
While we were out I found a geocache at an abandoned Inebriate asylum. It was amazing the outside looked like a castle. Too bad they don’t do tours of the inside. It was built in the 1800s.
Before heading home we stopped at an ice cream shop and I bought my daughter a mango gelati. It’s the 7th I’ve cream shop we’ve been to this summer. We’ve been to over 40 in the past few years.
At 3pm my daughter and I went to a youth art show where she had submitted an amazing drawing she did of Kurt Cobain.
Well my friend never got ahold of me so although I am bummed about that at least my house got a good cleaning so it worked out anyway.
Today my kids and I went to my nephews 6th birthday party. The kids had a blast swimming and playing on a huge slip and slide and playing badminton. I enjoyed socializing and the yummy food followed by the best of all... cake and ice cream.
I even took my little niece for a walk. She so smart and was singing Old McDonald ha a Farm after I pointed out an old barn to her. I see today she learned her colors recently and speaks so well for just turning 2.

Sorry about your friend. It sounds like you have been having an amazing time. We clean for our holiday in around April and it is not much fun and then afterwards we clean again. We have to take out the dishes we use for the holiday and put the others away till it is over. I have been helping my friend with decluttering. She has family that live here but live far away and are coming to her for a few days next week. The rooms we cleaned look so amazing and it is such a good feeling to see all the work we did.

Sounds like an awesome time. That was a great deal on the chess set. Sometimes we just need a bit of a nudge to get the dreary cleaning out of the way.

@Shellyann36 I am cleaning all the time but as far as dusting goes I slack off on that really bad. Even though I didn't get to see my friend it was good my house got a deep cleaning.

@Letranknight2015 there was a lot to do at the birthday party and all the kids had fun while the adults visited. My daughter loves parties there because she loves there dogs ha ha where as my son loves their pool.

@Courtlynn I was bummed about my friend not getting ahold of me but I assume maybe she was just really busy and didn't have time to get on the internet and meet up with me. She is recovering from cancer so I do worry though. I am sure she will message me when she can and at least my house is nice and clean now

It sounds like you had a lot of things going on which is good. I wanted to go to a yardsale Saturday, but it was raining all day. I didn't go out of the house.

@snowy22315 it was supposed to be really bad weather here today but it was beautiful until about an hour ago. The birthday party ended about 5 pm just as it started pouring. We were very lucky the rain held off and all the kids had so much fun. I myself and very tired out and I didn't do nearly as much as they did. Kids always have more energy then adults it seems though.

@Marilynda1225 the chess set was an awesome deal. My boyfriend loved it! I wish I did get to meet up with my friend but at least my house got a deep cleaning!

@andriaperry I have actually never played it and do not want to lol. It always seemed much more complicated then checkers and I'm not a big fan of that game either.
