Festival Time

Everybody's having festivals this time of year. I spent the weekend in Hamilton and I could have gone to the Greek Festival, or the Cactus Festival, but opted for the Waterdown Artsfest. Lots of live music there. I caught the end of Old Man Luedecke's set, about three songs, including The Joy of Cooking. (I took a look in the Joy of Cooking... if I'm not mistaken, the answer is bacon...) Also caught a bit of The Vaudvillian. They weren't on one of the stages, just set up at the side of the road. My friend and I walked around a bit then had dinner (fish and chips at the pub, where I also had a half of Guiness). And we got back just in time to catch Rita Chiarelli's set. Boy, was she in top form! and was backed by an all-female band. We even danced. Then we headed over to the other stage to catch Lighthouse. But they were late getting to town and it was almost an hour after when they were supposed to start. When they finally got going, they played some unfamiliar tunes and we decided to leave. Should have stayed for Jully Black at the other stage. She at least started on time.

We have a big Music Fest here in Pennsylvania but I haven't gone in ages. They're always a lot of fun

It sounds like that area has a lot of festivals..Richmond does as well. If I lived closer I would go to lots of them. One time I was working though,,,and was right across from the Greek festival..that was cool.

Yeah, if you can't go to a festival because you're working, but it's being held across the street from you, it's almost like being there, especially if you can hear some of the music.

The last big festival in France was the past weekend. Most of them are in July. The last one in Landerneau is called "FĂȘte du Bruit", Festival of the Noise or Do some Noise (FĂȘte/Faites). They had some old noises with Patti Smith this year ; I was not there but I read that she is aging well. Singers, dancers, actors and art exhibitions... your festival was a festival of culture

Someone else went to one in Stratford. I thought for sure that's were you went to, but you may go there a lot already? Working two jobs I don't have time for festivals the closest we have here in my city are at fairs at the library. They cover the parking lots and part of the road.
