The Haunted Toilet

I don't remember where we were going but it was between states. We stopped at a rest area and I headed to the ladies room.
As I sat on the throne, I heard a voice in my head. "Get out. You are her."
What?, I thought. The silent voice went on. "I died here. You shot me."
I have never been there before, it was just a stop on a journey.
"Get out. Go away."
Yeah right, I thought. This is my brain on travel mode, a night in the car in a Walmart parking lot, bad choices at fast food places and vending machines, and a need to shower.
"You are not real," I said out loud. A chill went through me and the toilet started automatically flushing over and over. Great, I thought. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to shoot you. It is okay for you to leave this place." Did I really just say that?
The chill went away and the flushing stopped. I ran out and never mentioned it to anyone. Who wants to get locked up when they are on a trip?

Well, that was.. That was something else.
Since I believe in past lives, and in doppleganger's, I'd have to say that voice wasn't just a figment of an over frazzled mind.

I hate to say this, Jo Ann, but it was that last stop at Walmart that made the ghost mad at you!

We've just been given a room in our cooperative's building 3rd floor for the use of our committee but the room seems to give me the creeps. Some employees say that there's something eerie in that room. Good thing the guy who's always alone in that room is brave enough. We'll be using the inner room and we'll be there not so often. As for him, he's there the whole day.

@sunrisefan How incredibly sad. Did the police get involved? I almost think I have heard of this case. I heard about a seminary that was being torn down. They found infant bodies in the walls. That is such a heartbreaking thing.

@akalinus They say that little children are the ones haunting the place. I was told before that the comfort rooms also had weird happenings. They said that a fetus wrapped in paper and plastic was found inside the ceiling of a comfort room at the 4th floor and that they gave a decent burial for the fetus after religious rites and they named her Angel. I was even able to go with the staff to visit her grave during one anniversary of our cooperative.

2 reasons why many toilets are haunted, There are water and mirrors. Those 2 are portals to the other world.

Owww creepy! I have that impression also in some gasoline station comfort rooms.. I can't explain why but there's something weird feeling sometimes.

Fascinating. It could have been purely imaginary except for the flushing, and that could be explained by telekinesis but if you were that telekinetic, I would think that would know it.

@akalinus I think it's slightly more than "sometimes." I think we all have a more or less steady stream of things we can't explain...A lot of us don't have as big and interesting an experience as you described here very often or at all but plenty of other smaller things that most of us write off to things like imagination or coincidence. And a lot of them may be due to imagination or coincidence or whatever else but not all of them.

@akalinus I hate those toilets that self flush before you're done. What's even worse is when the person in the next stall tries to start up a conversation with you, or when they ask "How are you?" and you answer then you realise they are on the phone with someone and you feel a bit silly.
