So Much Scary Information!

It feels like my country is falling apart. We're in a recession, the cost of everything is going up, people are barely keeping their heads above water, so to speak. There is a terrible fight about land going on and violence, violence, violence. Every day life is pure stress. A Hurricane and a Super Typhoon has been tearing into people's lives, one in the US the other the Philippines. What is going on with this world? It is madness, one way or another. Sometimes I wish we didn't know so much about what is going on. So much scary information coming at us each day. I hope wherever you are in the world today, that you and your loved ones are safe and happy. Have a blessed weekend every one.

Europe is not a in a lot better shape, people barely have enough to reach the end of the months. Some countries (like Italy) are in a very bad shape. I wonder what's going on.

@bluesa You are right, the past Italian governments did so many mistakes. Now it's hard to get out of this mess.

@LadyDuck , yes, unfortunately we are paying for history today combined with new bad decisions made. Once there have been too many bad decisions made in the past it is tough for a country to stabilize.

I am not sure, Anna, I just know only the rich or those who have very good jobs here are okay, the rest of us are barely making it, plus the other fears we are living with. I am sorry Italy also is in bad shape. I think it is governments @LadyDuck , they are making bad decisions and the citizens are paying

You are right. There's so much unfavorable things happening. I think that let's just keep the faith and hope and we can face and get over all these trials. Information is important though for preparedness.

@bluesa We are OK. Thank you very much. I hope you too. Let's just vigilant and listen to advisory and pray for our safety all the time because we can't really control forthcoming natural disasters.

Oh yes we in the Philippines did had our share of problems. News starts to trickle in from the path if the typhoon. It really looks like it was heavily damaged. There are still no reports about human casualty yet and hoping everything went well in managing human casualties.

I see now that there has been quite a few lives lost because of a landslide caused by the typhoon @rsa101 . Nature is so destructive.

I stay away from the news as much as possible due to how much negativity is being reported from around the world. I know things can be bad sometimes, but I try to focus as much as I can on the positive things in life.

@moffittjc if I could have, Jeff, I would have left this year already, but with my Mom on an oxygen machine and the recession hitting hard, we're basically staying where we are and praying for a miracle.

We do have many horrible things going on in our world. I pray for world peace every day. A lot of good it does. Sigh.....

@DianneN , same here, Dianne, a person feels helpless against certain things. Our President is not doing so well either, there is a lot going on here that shouldn't be, very worrying and scary times.

@aureliah , it is scary times in South Africa, the recession is adding to other major problems. I wish my family and I could pack up and run, but it isn't possible. Not sure where you are in the world, but sorry the cost of living is becoming quite expensive too.

The news media shows us many things that we never knew about the lives and conditions of mankind. Life is not easy and the predictions are that it will get more difficult for many. While for some it is the worst of times, for others it is the best of times. Paraphrasing Jesus' words on one occasion, he encouraged us to trust in God and live one day at the time and also make prayer an important part of each day.

@bluesa Yes! Some things we can change but other things we can't and just need to make the best of what comes our way.

Yes, we are inundated with much lately. I will have to trust, pray and live life one day at a time with my family. That's all we can do at the moment.

You are right, knowing too much bad news via media could make us depressed. Media also let some young people around the world become copy cats, copying each other's bad activities. I thought about your country's situation often since many (lots and lots) of your country people are living here in this city of mine. Tell your parents that there is another South Africa here, but with no fighting over farmlands.

Yes, and lately I am no ray of sunshine either, sorry. True about young people copying each other's bad activities, it has led to some serious heartache for some families. @YrNemo if I had the means, and my Mom was not on an oxygen machine, I would pack us up and head to your shores. Most of us are stuck here and can only pray and hope for the best.
