Angels: Are there good and bad ones out there trying to influence us at times?

Do we have both a good and a bad angel attached to us then, or not?

I have heard it said in the Christian Religions that we all have a guardian angel looking over us, and protecting us, at all times. We all have one, it is said, but do we also have one of the devils "angels" attached to us too, who tries to lead us to the wrong choices, whereas God's angel tries to lead us to the right choices in our life? Does God assign us a guardian angel, and how can we contact them, and does the devil try to assign us one of his angels too, that were kicked out of heaven with him, or have joined him since? Love is the energy in all of God's creations, and God's love is fundamentally also in the devil, but the love in him has been turned on its head, so to speak, because he does not love God back, but loves himself only, and the Devil utilises God's energy of love to try to achieve his own ends, instead of his following God's will, and God's plan for his life. In order to do this Satan will try to enter our consciousness, via our energy input portals, if he can, and this must not be allowed. These energy portals are our heart, our emotions, our mind, our consciousness, our thoughts, and our very being of ourselves, in any of these ways. We should ask our own guardian angel or God directly to prevent this, as when we feel the light of God's real self being itself, we will see no shadow, but the devil being himself casts a long shadow on all who he comes across, and this is his darkness. There is no darkness in God, only love, and light. Do we have both a good and a bad angel attached to us then, or not? Yes & no. Mostly no, because that's the way angels exist. They are just messengers---like The Serpent in the Garden of Eden ... it merely gave Eve the (false) MESSAGE that "disobeying would be okay." If you feel 'led to do-or-say something,' that--they say--is an angel or a 'demon' (the 'bad angel'). The darkness in God AMPLIFIES his love & light ... the way that 'sickness' is a sign that your immune-system is WORKING.

@innertalks Yes, but no. They can't change anything real about the world ... not anymore than "Sesame Street" MAKES children good by teaching them things (i.e. yes, the children can say they are good 'because "Sesame Street" taught them'; but the actual changing was done fully by the children themselves). So the angel doesn't do anything for you; you do it all yourself, with God perhaps telling the angel to show you how to do it. And they sort-of ARE influenced by the same spirit as God---you recall that the Old Testament tells us that God's name (at least one of God's names) is "Jealous" (Oh, and--speaking of 'names'--I feel compelled to note that I'm talking about "Our Heavenly Father" (and not the fallen angel 'Gadreel') when I say 'God' )
Bible > Exodus > Chapter 34 > Verse 14? Exodus 34:14 ?Verse (Click for Chapter)New International VersionDo not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.New Living TranslationYou must worship no other gods, for the LORD,

@mythociate Zechariah, the Father of John, the Baptist, was struck dumb by the Angel Gabriel. Every creation of God's has their own power, as they operate in God, for God, through God, and so angels are not devoid of power, and can change things on the Earth, when God allows them to do so. What is real is more up to the person believing it to be real or not. This is because it is your faith that creates your reality for you. The rest is mere constructive pantomime, which comes and goes. We are not to be led astray by the false "reality" of the Earth, but to place our faith and our mind on things (the greater reality) that are above the Earth, not on it.

I agree with you there, sure, the angels can act as messengers, but this, I think, also depends on the level of that angel. Some angels can save you from harm, and protect you, some give guidance, and some can help to heal you of ills. In the end, an angel acts as God's servant doing for you whatever God directs it to do. Bad angels have lost the title of angels and indeed we can call them bad spirits now instead. They are influenced not by the Holy Spirit, but by something else non-loving, which really, at its heart, is a sort of fear, sparked by the need for control, even control of God.

I believe in the consequences of the choices we make and we have an inner knowing of what they are for the choices we have. before us. It is sort of owning up for our actions. It is fair dinkum that we reap what we sow - siva

Yes, physics tells us this too. There is the cause and effect law, and another one that says what we put in motion will usually stay in motion, until we oppose it with a greater force. So, if we do nothing about evil, and negativity, letting it freely rein within ourselves, and so if we do not choose to change, and own up for our past actions, we will continue for certain our going in that direction, making bad choices, and later, receiving the consequences back for our doing of this too. Every action brings about a reaction, physics tells us that too.

@Shiva49 Yes, Einstein loved to play his violin too. We must make our own tunes with the right notes, not just produce a continual discord of disharmony.

@innertalks That is a good Bible verse. Yes, there are angels and they can protect us at times if it is the will of God but they are not there to protect us from ALL harm. So, you have met your "guardian angel". Can you tell us about that?

This is perhaps arguable, because although we have angels ready to help us, do we have anyone in particular actually assigned to us individually so? "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" Hebrews, chapter 1, verse 14. As for myself, though, I know that I have a guardian angel, as I have talked and met up with him at times in my own life, on a personal level. This then is how I see it working: We all have a particular angel assigned to each mission that we take on as soul, so it administers to our body, as needed in our earthly life. But like God, the angels must not be tested, and so they can be asked for their help, but not ordered to do so. They are there at God's reckoning for us, as a safety net for us in times of great trouble, to bring us messages, and assistance from God.

@1hopefulman My guardian angel's name is Gideon, and in his own words, he says that this is his role. "I basically stay around you looking out for the good of you, helping you to be this good, see this good, and allow yourself to be this good, as much as you can, in every aspect of your life." "The good is God. When you are being good as much as you can, you are feeling his love, because you not just come closer to him, you become more a part of him, and so you are not separately just yourself anymore."

Everyone has good and evil within us. Temptations are a big part of our choices. Like a fork in the road we must process our decision making, and have confidence in our wisdom to be strong enough to choose the right path.

Yes, at the end of the day, it is us that need to make the choices. We are all growing in wisdom over time through our experiences to be able to make better choices over time.

I do believe in guardian angels, but I don't believe in satan. If there was a child of God who "left" God's Kingdom, I believe he did so of his own free will. God would never "boot" anyone out of Heaven, as God's Love is unconditional.

Yes, it's hard to make sense of the Christian Bible's account of there even being a "so-called" war in Heaven, and the Devil, got "booted" out, and yet the same thing happened to Adam and Eve too, in the Bible account of their demise from the Garden of Eden. I sometimes think that the "God" of the Old Testament was not this unconditionally loving God, but another God, in the Hierarchy, so to speak, who had been given temporary run of the creation for a while at this level anyway, and yet that idea wouldn't really square with God being a God of unconditional love either, or would it.

@innertalks There is definitely some truth behind the myth, but it is metaphorical. Men don't interpret things metaphorically, and it was MEN who interpreted the Word of God, an impossible feat to accomplsh accurately when you don't understand God or His nature. The "Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil" as it is written in the bible, (in my way of thinking anyway), was a metaphorical telling of how Adam and Eve had descended from the reality of ONENESS WITH EVERYTHING, into the illusion of SEPARATION and POLARITY. Polarity meaning a world of opposites where before their descending, Eden was a world of oneness with God and All That Is. Their descending into this illusion was of their own free will. "If humanity wishes to learn by the serpent, I bow to their Free Will." (God)

@Starmaiden I guess that you are sort of saying that there are two ways of learning, from love, or from the serpent, the hard way. God is God, and God is a God of love. All of God's creation is made from that one great love. Free will given to God's creation allows them to love, or to not love, as forced love is not real love, and yet, in the end, the way of the serpent's way of learning redirects waywardness and corrects bad choices, not made on love, so this teaching algorithm, ( i.e. learning via the serpent) inbuilt into God's creation, allows all to grow in the end as their own "unique" part of God's love or oneness, not to shoot off on their own as wayward saplings (suckers), not rooted in God, or in his oneness.

Yes, in this life, there seems to be a duality of choices, and it is up to us to choose the positive approach over the negative one.

Yes, that is what I am getting at here. It is said that we all have guardian angels looking down on us from Heaven, but if Lucifer, Satan, or the Devil, (who goes by all of these names) and who is ruling the Earth right now, according to the Bible, brought himself, and a third of the angels in Heaven, at the time, that he was booted out from Heaven to the Earth with him, does he also try to assign one of his angels to us too, to try to swing us to his way of being, and thinking.

I know there are Guardian Angels watching over us. As for the bad angels perhaps now and then we get presented with one just to test our faith. I know that I thank the Lord for another day and all the good that is in my life each mornings and say the Lord's Prayer at night.

Yes, Jesus Christ himself confirmed this in this verse from Saint Matthew's gospel: Mathew 18:10 reads: "See that you do not look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven."

I believe in guardian angels but I don't think we're supposed to contact them. Also, I think Christians have some protection against evil getting too attached to them (unless they allow it). So long as we are alert for the wiles of the enemy, and turn everything over to God and ask for guidance and protection, we will be ok.

Sometimes Angels do contact humans. There are a few accounts of this in the Christian Bible, but these did not seem to be "guardian" angels, but these were other types of angels I think, often they were "archangels", said to be of a "high" rank.
