New Issue and Not Liking It

For the past several days I've been having nosebleeds and leg cramps, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. I got up twice last night to straighten out my toes and calves. I also had to stem another nosebleed.
I don't know what's going on, and really don't like the thoughts I'm thinking regarding it. The last time I had bad leg and toe cramps, I had a blood clot in one of my legs. I really hope that isn't the case this time. I really don't want to go to the hospital. They put me on Xarelto last time and that made things worse. I had nosebleeds all the time and it affected my colitis so I couldn't go swimming.
I've already had a long prayer session asking God to please take care of this as I really don't want all this going on right now.
I also need to get off the computer. My back is starting to hurt bad again. I know what that's from, all the stairs I did yesterday at my son's when I did laundry. I needed to get off the computer early last night because I couldn't handle it any longer.
I sat in the recliner with the massage pad working on my back. I watched a great movie on Netflix. Next Gen. It's a kids movie, but I think adults will love it too. I did. It's about robots and one little girl's dispassion for them.
That's where I'm headed now, but plan to use my laptop to get caught up with the notifications I couldn't get to yesterday.
What is everyone up to today? Thanks for reading.

@just4him , Sorry Valerie, but I insist that this is a VERY SERIOUS matter.
Nothing to do with the weather.
Do not make a mistake, my doc diagnosed me WRONG for a matter similar and I ended up 3 months in the hospital.
You could be developing "gangrene", VERY SERIOUS.

Increasing vitamin C often helps with nosebleeds. For the leg cramps and other muscle spasms my doctor has suggested drinking a glass of regular V8 (or generic) juice daily. That would also increase your Vitamin C, which strengthens your capillaries. My husband was helped by doing these things and he has had nosebleeds so bad they had to be cauterized. I also agree that you should see a doctor if only to put your mind at ease. Of course if you did a lot of stairs that will cause leg cramps at night when you relax.

Vitamin C sounds like a good option. I'll go with the stairs theory since it took the entire weekend to get my back and knees feeling normal again after doing laundry at my son's.

I sincerely hope that things improve and you don't have to seek medical attention.
Nothing much going on here today but it's a beautiful sunny day and perfect for sitting outside.

I am always on alert when an older person has a nose bleed, that for me is a sign of extremely high blood pressure.
As for the feet and leg cramps I suffer with those too, although mine were never blot clots, they were instead a lack of vitamins.
Take an aspirin, if you think its a clot and get to the hospital. Neither of those happenings should be happening.

My back is good today, thank you. I always go to church, no matter how I'm feeling. I 'need' to be there. I need my Sunday fix of fellowship and the Word. Besides, I can get prayer for problems, as I did yesterday for my high blood pressure.

Hope you are okay now then.
Spent the day trying to get the owner of this place to tell me when he is going to fix the induction plate of the cooker as its almost broken and hardly works.
Spent all morning watching to see if it did not turn off.

I did. My blood pressure is through the roof. I'm on meds and have an appointment with the doctor in two weeks.
This isn't normal for me. I'm not prone to high blood pressure. I dealt with it for a short time when I was a lot heavier than I am now but losing the weight that I lost, even brought that back under control.

nosebleeds could be a manifestation of a problem with the bleeding and clotting mechanism of your blood. the leg cramps, it is also a symptom of a condition that i should keep it in my mind first.
i hope you go visit your doctor and have your blood checked.

I just had labs done a month ago and they all came back well within the normal range. Better than the last time I had a lot of bloodwork done. I contribute it to all the healthy eating I'm doing.
I did check my blood pressure this morning after swimming and it was high. I'll be rechecking it again tomorrow before swimming. My bp isn't normally high, so I'm hoping it was only the exercise that caused the high blood pressure this morning.

@ridingbet I'm on BP meds as it has remained high. This should get it back to normal and everything will be good again.
I've never been called a health buff before.

@anya12adwi I went to Walgreen's to have my blood pressure checked. I will need to go back tomorrow as I went after swimming and my blood pressure was very high. It was after a lot of active activity. So, I will check it tomorrow before I go swimming to see what it is then. If it's still high, I will make an appointment with my doctor.

I am sorry you are experiencing this. It must be uncomfortable and scary. Please don't delay treatment if you need it though. Maybe you could ask for something other than Xarelto.

Right now it's not needed. However, should a blood thinner become necessary again, all of them have the same side effects, so it wouldn't matter which one I took.

I get leg cramps in the night and find them excruciating. All I can do is try and walk around until they pass.
I hope your doctor can sort this out. They might prescribe something different this time. As a Crohn's sufferer I know what it's like to worry about something affecting an IBD condition.

It's only happening at night, not during the day. So, I'm hoping it isn't anything to worry about.
