Ah there you are seasonal depression, I was wondering where you went

United States

Yep, today has been a no good, very bad day. Why? No reason. I mean, I got out, went to a few stores, got more books etc. I've started a load of laundry, did a quick job of vacuuming and even cleaned out one of my dressers. I can't even pinpoint what's upsetting me but I can feel the cloud coming over me. This really sucks. So yes, I may not be on here as much. I may be on here more, I don't know. Right now? Right now I just want to cuddle into bed and stay for awhile.

I've noticed you aren't as talkative and haven't seen you much anywhere besides your own posts. Hope you get over the blahs soon. They are no fun.

Yeah, I'm not really trying to be antisocial. If anything, being on my own posts is my attempt at being social. The blahs usually start this time of year for me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum mine do too, and will probably be worse this year. Work helps me stay out of them. At least more than years I wasn't working during Christmas.

@thislittlepennyearns The past few years? Work had had a lot to do with it. I know, atleast for me, trying to keep busy helps a little bit. I've turned off my phone so I won't be distracted with wasting time. I'm just going to do some earning online and continue to sort through things for goodwill.

There are times when I get that feeling. I won't say dark clouds - because I actually like dark clouds. But I get that depressed kinda feeling when strong winds are here. And today it's been very windy. Cuddling in bed sounds good!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I wonder if a rise in temperature does the same. Overcast and gray, I don't mind - and I don't even mind cold wind on those days. But today's wind here is strong and warm - on an already warm day - not to my liking. As they say, tomorrow is another day.

@much2say I suppose warm temperatures probably do the same. Especially for those who might be use to a cooler climate year round. You are right, tomorrow (as in today) is another day and I do feel better today than I did yesterday. I'm still just trying to focus on other things. Keep myself busy, it usually helps a bit.

Ah, I do love overcast days. For some it makes them feel worse but I actually like it. I think I'd read somewhere that a study had been done and proven that the drop in temperature has a direct relation to everyone's moods. I'm just going to try to work through it.

Welcome to my Constant! You need to make yourself a fort and snuggle up in it. Wishing you well. *huggles*

I have lots of blankets which is perfect for one. I am feeling better today, and I hope the feeling doesn't return though I am sure it will.

@Poppylicious I agree. I've been through this countless times. It used to be that I was depressed for most of the year, but then I was also in a situation I didn't really need to be. Now I have bouts of depression but the hardest is usually around this time of year.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It will, but you'll be prepared and that can make it easier to manage.

Mine usually starts about this time, right after fall begins. It's a horrible feeling, isn't it?

@Courtlynn I'm sorry to hear that. I used to have bad depression and anxiety but my circumstances changed and it was easier for me to deal with. Vitamin D is supposed to be a helpful vitamin for depression.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I wish mine was seasonal. Least I'd know it's coming.. but It's not, it happens off and on all year. So it definitely stinks. Very horrible.

@ScribbledAdNauseum - Tell me about it. But, you know, we should be able to just "snap out of it."

That's great. You can rest your mind and think of the thing that upsets you. I do that most of the time. I rest my mind first or think of wonderful things that could happen in my life if I'm not sick.

I laid on my bed for awhile and stared out my window. It was getting dark as I was doing this and I was just thinking of all the wonderful things about nature, it helped ground me. I find if I get into my head and list all the good things about my life it helps.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sometimes if I'm too exhausted, I just lay my head and close my eyes and think of the places that makes me calm.

I was depressed this weekend too. But not really seasonal. I had no power and I had to go to my uncle's house.

I'm sorry to hear that, on both accounts. That you were depressed and that you had to go to your uncle's.

Today it was drizzling and even at 10 am it was dark outside...days like this certainly give me the blahs,,,,but later when the sun comes out I feel much better....getting out does help if you can stay out of the stores...lol!

Ah, well I didn't spend too much money when at the stores. I used a gift card at one, and then only spent $6.00 in total at two other. It's overcast again today but the sun is trying to peek out.
