If earnings are any indication then I am not popular on mylot

I've never been the popular kid in school. And I am not popular on mylot. Maybe that's why I never make much. I never seem to make more than $7 in time for pay day. I've actually never even made $7. I joined mylot back in 2015 (towards the end of the year). First time I got paid, they payed out those that didn't reach $5 and I got just under $1.50, which apparently took me six months to reach. Next time I got paid, I had actually reached the $5 minimum and that took 14 months to achieve. That's just crazy. Don't know why it took so long. Guess I was not active much back then. Now it seems I reach $5 every three months. Though I managed to get there in two months' time once. That's progress for sure but I wish I could get $5 every month and hopefully much more than that. Maybe one of these days that will happen... You'd think it'd be easy to reach $5 (or more) every month. Not for this NYC girl apparently. But hey, anything I get is better than nothing.

In order to reach the magic $5 figure in one month, I need to do a lot of commenting and responding as well as submit posts at least envy other day. Sometimes that just isn't going to happen.

@lovebuglena don't I know it. I've covered miles.....don't always have available Internet......and a million other things I want to, or need to do.

We all have lives outside mylot. We can't necessarily be here every day or devote a lot of time in a day to it.

One thing you have to do is reply to every single person who does comment on your posts., that is who what you. Then go read and comment on the peoples post that takes their time to read yours. Talk about happy things in life. No one can take gloom and doom, being witchy and complaining daily, not that you do, just sayin. Three, share the real you with us, that is why will get you friends. See easy as 1-2-3

Sometimes there is nothing you can say in reply to someone's response or comment unless it's some generic phrase or meaningless phrase. Should I do that anyway?

You can surely get $5 every month, just need to be more active I guess, most of users here always retribute and reply you back.

I think that it's possible for sure but it has yet to happen. I've never reached $5 in one month yet. I guess having all of my discussions with lots of responses would be helpful. That's not true in my case. I have plenty of discussions that don't have a lot of interaction.

Your topics can drop down and people will miss them. I think earnings also depends about time of posting. If you post new discussion when many people is active, than you will get responses. Btw, I here active 10months and I didn't receive any payout yet so be patiente. You will succeed.

@lovebuglena Soon it will be even more faster. Try to post some topics about life on what everybody can something tell. Don't post anything to special to small circle of people.

@Iamkitty Maybe I should start keeping track of how many responses/comments I do each time I log in here. And how many discussions I post. And then see how much I made on those days and see if there is any pattern between how much I posted and how much I made.

Well I do not mind much about the earnings in here. I barely just started last July this year although I am a long time member in here. I think that average payout for me is about 2 months. I think that you belong to the normal users in here. As many are saying the earnings depend on your interaction with other members and not on what you post. If many would be interested in your post and interaction happens then you may earn from that.

@lovebuglena I just do not bother with how they are computing mine anymore. I like interactions in here and if I earn good if not then move on. Sometimes looking at what you are earning discourages you to go on participating in here. I just do what a normal commenter/poster I should be, if they like my topic good and thank you if not then I go to the next topic I can reply to.

Us posting earns us nothing and I know that. It's the interaction on what we post that's important. But what we post is important too because what we post (about) could mean the difference between getting lots of interaction or only a little bit, if at all. It would be nice if every post I did always got lots of interaction but that is not the case. I wonder if there is any mylotter that always gets lots of interaction on everything he/she posts on the site...

@rsa101 Focusing on earnings can discourage you for sure. Yet I always look to see what my earnings are... I interact whenever I can and whenever I am in the mood and hope for the best. I am not one of these people who has a set daily goal and won't leave my laptop or mylot until I reach it. I don't over exhaust myself to try and get a certain amount in a given day. I do not set goals here, though I hope to get around 17 cents in a day because getting about that much every day for a month gets you to $5.

For me, I'm not here enough period - so it seems like I reach payout every other month these days - sometimes it might take even longer. I don't think about popularity here so much . . . but I don't think much about payout anymore either. I'm just glad to join the party here when I can .

@much2say I like that for sure. I'd hate it if what we made went back to zero when the month was over if we did not make it to five. The only downside is that if you make close to five but never actually make it to five ever you will never see those earnings.

Reaching payout every other month is great. I'd like it if I progressed to that time frame. I am not one of those people that gets very upset if I don't reach $5 when the month is over. I am happy to reach it period, no matter how long it takes. It's a bonus to interacting with others and sharing my thoughts.

It's all about the activity here. If you are reasonably active on the site commenting, responding on your posts, participating in discussions, and adding discussions it is not hard to make that $5 payout at all.

@porwest I probably have to respond to/comment on a huge amount of discussions daily... I probably don't do that on as many discussions as I should... But we are more likely to get interaction on our own discussions than on our responses/comments on others' discussions, no?

@lovebuglena Just go around and start liking and commenting on a ton of posts. You would be surprised at how quickly your bank goes up. I have actually experimented where I did no posts but just commented and liked, and my earnings went through the roof. Even in some posts, if you comment on others comments in that post and like their comments, this works too.

The amount you earn is based on how much others respond to you. Posting interesting posts that invite responses, leaving responses that invite comments, and making comments that lead to a conversation rather than a quick like and move on will all help you earn more.

You make great points here. Writing an interesting discussion is not enough. You gotta keep the conversation going in the comments. It's not always easy though because there are times when there is not much you can say in reply to a response or a comment someone leaves on your discussion.
