A Frosty Night Ahead

I was just listening to our weather forecast for tonight and it's going to get mighty frosty. In fact, they said that cars will be covered with frost in the morning and to make sure you know where your ice scraper is.
We always have one in the car so that's not anything we have to worry about. In fact, the car is in the garage so it doesn't even get covered with snow during those miserable winter months.
This made me realize that winter isn't that far away and it's time to make sure we have winter supplies on hand because we could be dealing with snow and ice sooner rather than later....I hope not but you just never know.
It was chilly and very windy here today and it's also trash night. I pulled the pails out to the curb and I'm hoping they don't blow down the street and wind up in a neighbors yard.
Mother Nature certainly is a lady to reckon with isn't she

The van windows have been covered with frost every morning for the last several days. Today we saw a few light flurries.
It was certainly a reminder that winter while soon be here.

Is the area you're in now more prone to harsher winters than where you moved from?

@Marilynda1225 last year we compared the temperature. The average was similar....maybe a degree or two colder. They do traditionally get a bit more snow than we did before, but again, that varied from one year to the next.
I was here last winter for the months of February and March. For the most part the temperatures were comparable. We did have a couple of Nor'easters roll through, but again, the snow was t much different from what I was used to.

Back home in CO they are getting their snow storms, here in Texas it is a little chillier and people are running around in winter coats and hats while I am still in Capri's and Tshirts lol. We have had nothing but rain and wind, hope your trash cans stay in their own yard

I think that tonight could be our first night to have frost also.
Its very clear tonight, no clouds to keep that "warm" air inside, and it was quite cold tonight and the wind was very still. We've had a couple of really windy nights, and I think that helped as far as the possibility for frost went. But I'd be surprised if we don't get it tonight.

No rain certainly is not good especially if the rivers and lakes are showing the signs. We went from unseasonably warm to freezing cold in just days. Crazy....

We got below freezing early this morning. I was not happy with that thin layer of ice on my water trough out there.

No frost for us yet, but has been very windy and cold off and on.
We leave a scrapper in the car too but also one in the house for those days when the car doors wont open right away
