Running Late, This Traffic I Hate

Rush hour it is! When I stuck in a.traffic jam, I want to get off the car and fly. Grab car is too.expensive at this hour so I ended up in a cab. Running fare is $2 and I am almost in the drop off. I think the problem with the traffic is the lack of discipline of the public transport and commuters. There is no designated pick up points and drop off. One more turn to right and I ready to get off.

We also have lots of traffic issues caused by accidents, roads that are obsolete, highway mowing, construction, rubberneckers, and car breakdowns. It's so frustrating!

@DianneN I hope that more and more houses here will have car garage so that they won't park their cars on the street

@jobelbojel Our highways have been expanding to allow for more cars. Around here it only gets congested during the rush hours. We don't have a skyway or subway. We do have trains for going to the larger cities. Where I live, there isn't much traffic at all. Our nightmare is driving into New York City to see our son and his family. What should take 1 hour and 15 minutes can take up to 3 hours!!!!!!

I noticed that the traffic is in major thoroughfares only. I happen to work in Quezon city that is why traffic is lighter when you go through the streets that are not usually passed through by most of the vehicles. In the morning the traffic goes Southwards and by the evening goes Northward. So travelling to work for me is quite fast and when work is off I go the opposite where traffic is also light. So I am less affected by the traffic woes going around. I think another that causes traffic is the excessive cars on the road at a certain time of the day. With the extensive promo deals made by these car companies around in the past years many were tempted to buy because of that even though they have no parking slot to park their cars they bought it because of the prices they offered before. This in turn increased the cars on the road. The roads are not growing bigger but the number of cars are on the increase.

@jobelbojel I guess we Filipinos are very observant about their rights when it comes to ownership. I think Government also has the right to regulate things when it is used in excess. The sale of cars have recently surged because of the promos they offered it created an outgrowth of car population on the road which is what we are seeing right now. It is high time that the Government should intervene to stop this practice because in the end we the public commuters and drivers welfare is at stake in this. I stand for responsible ownership of a car is needed at this point in time. A car owner must have a garage to keep his car and not parked outside the streets which constricts roadways. And strict implementation of Car registration that will make each and car road worthy.

@rsa101 I completely agree with the government's right to regulate this. It is important to note that even minors streets are being transformed as the parking area of most residents. Example would be in my barangay. I see lots of cars parked outside the gated houses.

You have a good observation! I always see posts on FB regarding promo on car deals. Only a small amount of downpayment, one can own a brand new car. Another post says, if you don't have a car garage, you should not buy a car. I can't remember the details - in Singapore, a citizen can't buy a car if he/she can't show proof of earnings. I can't remember what I have read before. But they are filtering who can own a car. I work in Mandaluyong, they say that traffic is terrible in this area, but I am not affected because my work starts at 5 AM, at 4 AM I am on the road already,

Rush hour really isn't pleasant at all. I don't like to have to deal with it, and i'm definitely glad that I don't have to deal with it often.

If flyings cars were invited then the skies would be more traffic as well and more deaths by accidents too.

It's quite a mess! I don't want to go to Manila due to traffic; if we can not avoid going there, we travel during unholy hours, usually very early in the morning.
