Cleaning My Desk

I sat at my desk to pay some bills and one thing let to another and now the whole desk is pulled apart. Guess that's my project for today even though I had no plans to tackle it.
I have a very bad habit of shoving things in the drawer and one corner is a catch-all for all sorts of stuff.
It's gotten to a point where it's an unsightly mess and I feel distracted when sitting here and not being able to concentrate 100% on what I'm trying to do.
I had other things I wanted to do today but I guess my desk needed priority attention.
Do you get involved in a project you had no intention of doing?

Often. I get distracted easily. I cleaned my desktop off yesterday, but only because I was looking for my sweeper manual.

@playertwo This was the robot sweeper. It is not very loud at all. I can ignore it while watching t.v. unless it starts beeping. That tells me it needs attention.

@Marilynda1225 Mine often run together. This leads to that and so on. Then I have to get back to my starting point.

I have the habit of starting one thing and then getting involved in something else

I didn't plan on doing laundry today but I did that. Lol. I'm glad I did it and got it over with-doing laundry in a tub is a lot of work!

I wanted to check the glasses we store in the cabinet and get rid of those we never use. I ended up taking out ALL the glasses (), put in boxes those we do not use, washing all those I intend to keep, clean the cabinet and put the glasses back by size and use. It took hours.

@Marilynda1225 What I am now trying to do is get rid of everything we do not use. I will have more room in the cabinets and I can make some people happy donating what we do not need.

Hours of work but I bet those glasses are shiny and look beautiful now. I have so many coffee mugs that take up room in my kitchen cabinet that we never use. I should really get rid of them and make more room.

It's done and that makes me happy. Since no one uses the desk but me I have no one to blame other than myself for the mess

I have a file cabinet like that. I try to purge it periodically. 90 percent of the stuff in there could probably be tossed..Maybe it had value to me once, but no longer.

I just finished shredding all the papers, etc from my mom and she passed away almost two years ago. She saved every little scrap of paper so it was tedious going through all of it without knowing what was important and what wasn't

It gives me relief to think that there are others in this world who clutter up,. (lol)

If we took a survey I'm sure there are more of us than those who don't acquire clutter

Not if I can help it. I think men have a somewhat greater ability to ignore messes. My wife would agree.

It went pretty quickly so it wasn't as bad as I thought. Wish I was more like you and finished one thing before tackling another

I have a large dresser in my bedroom that I'd like to get rid of but no one strong enough to carry it down the stairs. I understand your frustration
Maybe you can get rid of it when you move?

I've been trying to get my closet cleaned and organized for months now. I start and then stop and never quite get ahead.
