today I shop at the supermarket
because I need to buy something at the supermarket,
I try to pay using a credit card,
when I check my credit card,
I did not expect that I had spent too much money on my credit card,
I never realized, that during this month I used my credit card quite often and I did not control my expenses,
so my balance is almost thin ...
how about you do you always control the use of your credit card?
above is a photo of my credit card, do you also use a credit card?

@leny34 Well, I practical use it daily as I carry little cash with me. I like to see my statement with all my purchases each month. I usually pay it all off when I get my statement.

@1hopefulman so you only use it when you get a statement to pay?

Showing your credit card could give people the numbers to use it. So you might want to remove the photo.

I thought you're too young to have a credit card :) I have a credit card and I only use it only to buy necessary things or pay important obligations. Other than that, I just use cash for light purchases and exercise self-discipline.

@leny34 So there's a limit - you have to be 17 or older :)

@myklj999 they sadly can do that too with bank cards!
But really, its all to easy to not remember or care to be accountable when spending fake money. It can always be paid later.....
Not to mention interests... Etc!
I'd rather just spend what I have and save up to buy important things!

@leny34 I use it periodically. I try to get 25 transactions on my debit card each month to forego the $5 service fee they would otherwise charge me at my bank. Then after that I can use the Discover card and get 1% cash back. But like I said, I pay it off right away. I don't carry a balance. I come from the main idea that for the most part, if you need credit to buy it, you can't afford it.

How did you know how much you had already spent on your card? Or did you check before you went to the store?
When I go shopping or anywhere else where I have to pay (restaurant, movies, etc.) I always swipe. Very rare that I pay with cash. That's because I get 1.5% cash back on all my purchases and it is faster to pay this way.
When I do that though it is easy to spend a lot of money and that's usually what happens because I don't really keep track of how much I am spending; I just swipe. And then at the end of the month I end up with a very high bill. And not working that's a terrible thing. Good thing I have my savings to be able to pay it off when the bill comes.

It's a very useful tool, but a powerful one, and as with all power tools, you need to use it carefully!
