Think It -Believe - Live

I do practice what I preach, so to speak, I am not a religion preacher but I don`t tolerate self pity, even when I am caring for people who have terminal illnesses. I know some may be thinking "what a witch!" and that is fine, I have been called worst. I will hold your hand and give you a hug, even cry with you when things become to much for the mind to hold back but I won`t do this everyday, get it out and let go. Having an illness is not a reason to stop living, just like the people without legs wearing a prosthetic and running races, they did not give up and sit in a wheelchair, they chose to live life to the fullest. I have this thing I do, some call it the power of suggestion, I just say stop thinking about it and live... it works. The more you think about what a doctor told you you have wrong with you, the more you will obsess about it, the more you obsess about it the worst it will become. And sometimes you don`t even have what they tell you you have, misdiagnosis, happens all the time. Since Tony was in the hospital with pneumonia he has been feeling tired and useless, Yesterday he had a bad day mentally, so I told him stop thinking about sickness and just go live how you want, you`ll be fine, what is gonna be will be, he said this morning "my shoulder hurts" I rubbed it then applied biofreeze and told him to lift his weight that his muscle is needing to be worked since you have laid up for two weeks. I was in the kitchen and he said " I am gonna do what you said," I asked "what is that?" He replied "I am gonna stop thinking about being sick or getting sick," now that cold season is here and everyone we see is sick. I said " good." So there, think that you can and you will. Really! You will. How do you deal with illness, do you give in to it or fight like a tiger?

I research to see if there is anything that I can do to be better. I try to do things that produce health like eating healthy and staying active. I avoid harmful things like smoking and overeating and drinking too much. I stay as active as possible and get out of the house almost every day and do things and see things. Most of all, I do spiritual things like prayer, Bible study and helping people. I want to live till the last day!

Depends what it is. Just a bad cold I give in and go to bed for the day. But anything else I just keep going. It wont change anything just sitting and crying about it.

I do fight it. I get up and dressed every day, no matter what. Some days, my arthritis hurts so much that I am crying half the day. I am good with it unless it gets cold. I am a basket case in the cold, that is why I moved to Florida where it is freezing right now. Are we supposed to feel great all the time? Because I don't.

No your not going to feel great all the time. No one does. When I had cancer I would go to work come home and pass out because I was so tired. So I know when to let sleep come for people and when to make them get up and out.

Then you should change the daily grind if its hard to be positive the way things are, I know you do all the driving and that wont change, but you are in control and you have the power to change things.

I keep on plugging on. I knew the diabetes diagnosis was coming. At the time I "knew" it was inevitable, everyone in the family had been diagnosed. Wish I had known better then. I am not too bad off, but would like to not have it. The fibromyalgia diagnosis does not really have any effect on me, other than to explain why some days I hurt and am tired. Guess what? The harder I work, the better I feel. I am having a hard time not giving up on Bob, though. He is awful tired and sleeps a lot. Doctor yesterday said, Of course, you have lost too much weight, very fast AND you have very low hemoglobin, lets run some tests and get it taken care of. He gets discouraged, because he thought he was Superman.
