I was not in the mood for the same old same so I looked around in the fridge, The freezer and pantry and came up with a nice meal I have not made in a while. Homemade hamburger helper, I cannot say it was any healthier than the box but I know for sure it was less salt and taste better. The menu : Beefy noodle with brown gravy Green beans Cole slaw. Now the Cole slaw was part of the dinner I got night before last at Captain D`s ( I did not mention there was enough fish to freezer for other meals like last night, fish sandwiches) We just got done eating, it was so good on this cold rainy day. What did you have for dinner?

Nice. Here it is 436pm so I must wait on dinner for a few hours but probably a salad and some leftover lentil soup! Glad you enjoyed yours. And I am sure it tasted one thousand times better than from the box!

Yes it did, I used a little amount of hamburger this time, for Tony. I had my homemade vegan soup for lunch.

We just got up from the table a little while ago. I made something light, tuna melts. We both like those. I served French fries with them to my husband, but I didn't want any. And we had clementines for dessert-you know its December when you see those in the grocery stores.

You come out California way you have GOT to come by!!!! I love to cook and can come up with meals from nothing. We didn't do a whole turkey for dinner for Thanksgiving, just turkey thighs. I pared the meat off the bones, boiled some taters, made some yummmy gravy and that was dinner. I ate two helpings and Bill ate three. I made "monkey balls" which were balls made of hamburger with a touch of rice along with oregano, basil, garlic (Love garlic) and they were simmered in tomatoes. I made them for my family many years ago. When I was thirteen I took over cooking for the family since my Mom worked a full time job. No fast food or cheating, right down to the home baked bread. I do okay with pizza, there is a super pizza place in town that has great pizzas that aren't like your usual pizza, it's fire baked and super. Other than that I don't eat much pizza. I won't do it for you though.

Meals which don't follow recipes made with the things you find in the fridge can taste very good. I'm good at making tasty salads from leftovers.

Yesterday I made a pot of venison/veggie soup which was yummy. It's cold and rainy with some snow still on the ground, so we'll probably have left over soup. Stay warm there!

I was in a comfort meal kind of mood and still tired from my trip so opted to make Ziti pasta with a pat of butter, sprinkle of cheese and few shakes of Italian herb mix. It was pretty good.

@andriaperry I do too. As a young girl, mom would make mine separate so I didn't have all that sauce. When I'd eat it with the sauce, it was as a spaghetti sandwich with butter as the spread.

@andriaperry Home made yeast bread fresh from the oven! I had to always make a special small loaf for myself so I would leave the big loaves alone...especially with real butter on it. I would do home made rolls and bread for my parents for dinner...they would eat their way through the bread or rolls. There wasn't much talk at the table just chewing! When I moved out of the house they both lost 50 pounds in less than two months...mom wasn't the best cook!

My sister and I had shopped ourselves silly, just for needed things, like food for her Gypsy, lovebird. We got back to her place and Bob was into a football game. She has been wanting to order out and so we had a delicious Supremem Pizza. It had more garlic than usual, I think Very tasty. Bob and I drink water, and we had mini candy bars. Not very healthy over all, but it did taste really good.

I wasn't healthy. I just had a frozen pizza. I wanted veggie burgers tonight, and I was going to buy some at Food Lion, but I needed to buy Boca burgers for Ibotta, and FL just had the Morning Star brand.
