In this beautiful World there are 195 countries and with that many countries comes many different cultures and traditions. There is simply so much to explore and to experience on this planet. I most definitely rank the United States as my favourite country because they offer so much in terms of business, media, entertainment and of course music etc.. The positives outweighs the negatives in the USA.

I did some research a few years ago and found out that were about 240 countries. Things have changed. I have no favorite country as each one has its on beauty. I live in Canada and it is a beautiful country.

@Remz1193 You are right about the weather and we have many winter activities to stop us from going insane. There are recognized countries and unrecognized countries but they all exist and can be visited.

240? everywhere on the internet is saying 195, hmm interesting. I visited Canada once, back in 2010 in May, in Toronto. Great Summers in Canada but Winters are too cold.

Oh ok. I like France even though I've never visited in person. The area between Cannes and Monaco is where I would go to if I do go to France for a visit.

I can't say I have a favourite country as I haven't travelled out of the UK (and even within the UK, I've only ever gone outside of England to get to Wales). I am, however, looking forward to my first visit outside of the UK - to Spain. It was not really somewhere that was of particular appeal to me but my youngest son suggested it (his reason being that he can speak Spanish) and it's a short flight. There are a few places I'd like to visit, though. I have always wanted to go to Canada, and I think Holland would be interesting too. If all goes well on our flight to Spain, I will think about heading further afield next time. There is still a lot I haven't seen in the UK as well, though. I have a very long list of places I want to see!

@Remz1193 My eldest son has been to Gran Canaria (and various other places around the Mediterranean) and he said it was nice. We're going to Mallorca when we visit Spain in the summer. Wanted somewhere quiet but with lots to do so hopefully we've chosen a good spot!

I have been to many countries and stayed for good number of years out of my motherland. I liked all of them but my heart lies in my own motherland India.

For discussion purposes, excluding my home country, the IS, I find England my favorite place to visit, I am sure because of the fact that the culture grew out of English culture more than any other country.

@Remz1193 I have to say Israel. It is the only Jewish Country in the world. It is where my heritage is and where I should be and I am here.

@Remz1193 Why Tel Aviv? Why not Jerusalem? Jerusalem is our capital.

@Hannihar Tel Aviv seems like a place that I would enjoy much more but I still would go on a day trip to Jerusalem during a 1 week trip.
