Today is National Laundry Day?

Are they serious.Never heard of this day. Do know many to their laundry on Monday. We do ours on Wednesday. I was curios and had to look this on line. Below the information that I found online What day do you do your laundry photo on line ____________________________________ Even though National Laundry Day and Tax Day often land together on April 15, remember to keep these two activities separate. Anybody who has ever recovered a $20 bill from the washing machine knows why. That said, we generally don’t love doing laundry. However, we’re thrilled when it’s done. Think clean clothes, fresh sheets, and that special fresh laundry scent. (Do you have a favorite dryer sheet fragrance? If you must know, we here at National Today are partial to something in a lavender.) The word “laundry” comes from two Welsh words, “lloon,” or crazy, and “dyrte,” or dirty. The Welsh jokingly called the English “lloon dyrtes” and with time it morphed into “laundered.”

I'll celebrate this the same way I celebrate Labor Day -- by not doing any.

I do my laundry... Well it varies. Sometimes I do it on Wednesday, sometimes it's Monday or Tuesday. I do need to do some laundry, but I may not do it today.

@amadeo We own our own washer and dryer which makes it easier. It's all a matter of when I want to do it, or when I have enough clothes to do it.

I do laundry on my son's day off. It varies and is rarely on Monday. I will probably do laundry tomorrow as I know he has the next three days off. Interesting how we got the word laundry.

The etymology of the word is so interesting and funny. We wash the clothes on a washing machine and give it to a local shop for pressing and ironing. Some expensive and delicate stuff are given to the dry cleaner.

When I think back to the days that I would watch my Gramma run her clothes thru the wringer-washer, that was work. Today we press some buttons, add a capful of detergent and the clothes and close the lid. The machine does all of the work for us. Transferring over from the washer to the dryer and folding and putting the clothes away is about all of the work that is involved.
