Her virginity should be perceived in faith. Mother Mary was prepared by God since her birth to be a mother of Jesus.

So we are unfamiliar with the notion of a virgin conceiving and giving birth. Well, that is the whole point. This was a unique event, orchestrated by God directly. Otherwise known as a miracle.

Too bad there wasn't paternity or DNA tests back then. We could know for sure then! :)

Its supposed to represent the magical birth of christ. He was unlike any other birth and any other human and it was symbolic of God being his father, not Joseph.

It doesn't seem logical for humans. But most people believe it. It is true in some reptiles though. Did you see the story about the Komodo Dragon who impregnated herself?

I think it was not talking about when she gave birth, it was how she became pregnet with Jesus, it was not in the regular fashion.

Well I don't want to provide my actual thought about it. It is a big controversy. mother mary, whom we worship, may not be a virgin, but eventually to keep her image clean in front of normal public it was announced that she is a virgin (may merciful mother mary and holy father spare me for this). So I believe it is a political buildup by saints of those ages.

I think it was a great thing to pull off! I'm not Christian, but I don't doubt that Mary and Jesus and Joseph existed. I think that Mary got knocked up but wasn't married, couldn't admit to it, and created this fabulous story about being knocked up by God (it's really genius, you have to admit it! I would have done the same thing back in those days when people would believe that kind of stuff). Joseph may have been the father, or he may have just stepped up because he wanted to be famous.

that's religion and we shouldnt dabble in it. we should just leave things as they are said and meant to be.
