I have a bad habit of playing with my rings when nervous, and I was very nervous at our board meeting last Tuesday, knowing I would have to speak to a large crowd.
I wanted to bring up several points, and didn’t want to forget them.
So I somehow broke my Italian designer ring that my husband bought me in Bermuda. It was able to spread open and closed, but without thinking, I spread it beyond its capability.
Hubs will bring it to a jeweler to see if it’s repairable. If not, I will have to have the stones incorporated into a bracelet or pendant.
I sure did love that ring. It was a conversation piece

@DianneN Oh how funny! Hopefully it broke the ice and it made you less nervous? It's crazy having a brain fart during such important moments . . . kinda like forgetting your PIN number for a card when shopping when you use that number all the time .

Yes, thanks! I’m so relieved it could be repaired easily and quickly.
I forgot our apartment number when introducing myself. . I actually gave my older sister-in-law’s number. She was at the meeting along with all my third floor friends, my brother, and his wife, etc. What a laugh! My husband had to tell me our number. Too many houses.

This brings back a memory to me, also. About a year ago, the cameo setting fell out of a ring that Jay bought me. Apparently, it can't be fixed, which caused disappointment. Regardless, I'm sure you conveyed your points clearly, at this board meeting:)

I gave my older sister-in-law’s apartment number. She was there, my brother, his wife, all my friends, and my husband. They all had a good laugh at my expense. I was so worried I’d forget my questions that I forgot where I lived!

@DianneN Well, one day a man asked my name. My reply was, 'I'm Jay's wife!' His witty response was, 'And your name is?'

We all have our own ways to handle nervousness. I generally keep rubbing my palms. I conduct workshops as part of my profession, but still I feel butterflies in stomach just before I start each session.
I hope the ring gets fixed. I am sure you did well with your talk

Thanks so much! I have also spent my life speaking to large groups giving lectures, talks, commentating, speeches, and emceeing fashion shows. I always had butterflies in my stomach, but no one ever new it.
My wonderful husband was able to find a jeweler who was able to repair the ring!

@DianneN Good to know that it can be fixed. So nice of your husband to put his effort to find a jeweler. Your husband is the real jewel you have.

Sorry, that happened. Now, remember when you get uptight no playing with your jewelry. I hope it can be fixed.

OH Dianne what are you like. I can't imagine you would be nervous with your teaching background I would have thought you were a natural. Ok If we are ever in the same room together and I see you twiddling with your rings I will slap your hand for you and tell you to stop it! I do hope it is repairable. Remember this. Next meeting "note to self" wear no rings!

Just don’t hurt me! I always wear my engagement and wedding ring, because they are insured.
Hubs snuck it out of the house when he went on errands this morning. The jeweler repaired it on the spot, thank goodness.
Btw, as nervous as I get on the inside, I never show it on the outside. However, this time I forgot my condo number.

A good jeweler should be able to fix it. Good luck.
