Social distancing is now 6 feet

When the lockdown here was declared, it was called Community Quarantine. After some time, it was changed to Enhanced Community Lockdown with the social distancing of 3 feet or 1 meter. But lately, with the declaration that face mask is now required when you go out, the social distancing should be 6 feet. I don't think the 6 feet is being followed.

No matter the rules, there will always be those who break them unfortunately.

Maybe it is out of habit that it feels weird to observe a big distance when in line.

@Alexandoy Maybe it's the fear of someone cutting in front of you in the line so people dislike the distance. But seriously, if you just pay attention to who's in front and back of you, it shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes, when I'm in line, I'm tempted to police the line and call the attention of people not paying attention when the line moves. Hehehe.

@moirai you are like me. I also do that when someone is out of order in the line. I try to put some order so it will be fair to everyone.

We have been told 6ft all along, but still, either some people cannot judge what 6ft is, or they are not being mindful about it. Here, many of the stores have tape or makers on the floor so you know where to stand (very helpful) but you can't tape up the whole world. The people in this photo need to be further apart.

@Alexandoy They need to remove every other tape off . . . then there's the 6ft .

I don't even think the 1 meter distance is being followed by everyone. I wonder if people will be able to follow 6 feet. In any case, thanks! I haven't been able to follow the news religiously so I didn't know that they changed 1 meter to 6 feet. (Never thought I'd be getting my news from mylot. )

@Alexandoy I guess I'll find out, the next time I have a need to go, if at least the banks and grocery stores I go to will be able to follow this new distance. They've been doing a pretty good job so far. Unlike those pictures I see on social media of people in other places not practicing any social distancing at all.

@moirai the market place is more crowded than the one in the picture. Maybe the enforcement of the distancing should be more strict.

You are right, those people are much closer than 6 feet to one another. They need to mark the sidewalks to show 6 feet apart ..... and they would have to hire someone to do that, I wonder how many people would apply for that job?

@rebelann I am not against such rules but my point is the enforcement. People have the force of habit to not adapt to the new rule.

Same here. And even before the six feet rule, physical distancing was rarely followed. And people will find the six feet rule much harder to follow.

@Mamerto32 you are lucky to find a supermarket with a short queue. Here, the line is at least 50 people.

@Alexandoy hehe agree! In fact whenever I go out shopping,I always do that in early morning and choose the least crowded grocery store. This shop Savemore got shorter queue so I always go there.

When I visited the supermarket the other week, I was struck to see the feet marked where each person had to be placed in order to pay for the groceries.

Unfortunately some are less than the recommended distance. I when shopping at the supermarket is only a half meter from other people.

@Alexandoy I queued up and several people over the dividing line, I was dizzy about what I wanted to buy if things aren't always there.

I was on my tree house yesterday and I saw people down below not practicing social distancing. It might interest you to know that new studies coming out show that the virus could be transmitted from sufferers 13 feet away

It soon gonna be 27 feet. It was 4 feet in my area in the beginning but the researchers are now saying it should be 27-30 feet to make it absolute safe. Now they have proved it can hit one in the air so you never know how much is really a safe distance!

I agree that we really don't know the safe distance. That means we are still back on square one which is stay-at-home.

6 feet is a little hard but the public must try hard! New York City is seeing some results, these requirements are starting to make a little progress

I guess it’s really hard to do it since it will mean a very long line when going to groceries. We are not used to that kind of having space between. The 1 meter maybe acceptable since they forced everyone from wearing the face masks already.

That is true. Even with the 3 feet, one supermarket here has more than 50 customers, you can imagine the very long line that it will create.
