A Very Ordinary Day

The sun shone bright this morning. I rushed the laundry. The linen and the clothes had been hanged on the clothesline before seven in the morning.
I proceeded to trim the brittle twigs in the front yard, and the overgrown bushes. A gentle breeze brought a butterfly in solo flight, kissing the white and yellow flowers.
A wonderful feeling to be out under the warm sun. I sat on my old 'papag' - a bamboo bench, and watched the greens, the birds, two airplanes ascending and disappearing in the horizon.
It was after a backbreaking sweeping of dry brown leaves that accumulated again in the front porch. Glad I had my witch's broom, I didn't have to stoop to sweep.
My daughter fried some fish and concocted a vinegar-based ampalaya ensalada for lunch. The coco buko was very refreshing.
Then, I probably slipped into a sound sleep, for when I awoke, it was already time for supper. Just cheesy omelet with chicken sausage.
A wonderful day.
Now it is time for movies.
By the way, my daughter helped me fold the clothes.

Thank you. It was, as you say, a perfect day.
That's a positive perspective of enjoying a day despite the rain. Rain could be disconcerting, we don't get to accomplish the tasks we planned. But it does not mean our day has been dampened. Just enjoy what is at hand.

@LadyDuck Grateful for the weather forecast, though am still amazed at how correct they predict the rain.
I am methodical in that area, too. My activities are dependent on the forecast.

@eileenleyva I guess that cannot be taken out of the situation. Mother - Daughter conflicts cannot be avoided because of over familiarity with each other. But in the end you both love each other after that.

Considering the very strong characteristic traits both my daughter and I are made of, there's the occasional verbal jousts of opinions. The mother does not yield, invoking the wisdom that comes with age. 
All in all, there's a general sense of serenity, as you suggested. The mother is well taken cared of, especially when it comes to nourishment.

I love winter scenes, appear soft and peaceful to me. Reality though spells a certain bitterness, because the cold can penetrate and shake one's resolve.
Don't allow the gloomy weather dishearten the spirit. Make each day meaningful.

Been domesticated a long time now but I do feel I was destined to enjoy the serenity of my home. My garden is my pastime. It was a day well spent. Thank you.

That's why my brooms are substandard, I ain't a good witch.

That was my original title for the post - A Wonderful Day. Changed it because some may feel there was nothing wonderful in performing home chores. Thank you for that response. Made me feel good.

I love the sound of the broom swishing the brown crisp leaves. And I do enjoy sweeping the leaves and stashing these under the mango tree. There's a huge mound now but that will hold my mango from the storm.
I love the chore, it's a physical exercise I look forward to each day. Beneficial for the health.
