Do You Have Memories of That Day?

Some of you are going to be too young to have memories of that day, but I know exactly where I was. I was in the car with my daughter and we were going shopping. The radio was on and for a few minutes we thought that the talk show host was trying to be funny. We thought that it was a horrible way to get people to call into the show but then we started to notice that the host sounded different today. He wasn't his normal bubbly self. That changed the entire direction of our day. We continued onto the mall and watched to day unfold on our phones as did everyone else. I don't think that we got any shopping done. We just sat there on a bench watching other horror stricken people who could hardly believe what was happening. I don't think that I will ever forget that day... Where were you?

We were at my in-laws house. Both had passed away; and I was packing up their clothes for donation while watching TV.

I was at work, and we turned on the TV I think shortly after the first plane hit, and before the second. The whole thing was really scary for about a half an hour as it seemed like the ending of the world, like something you would see in a movie. I will never forget that day. I was actually working about 5 miles from the Pentagon then, and when I went outside I could hear the sirens going to and from that area.

We hear about it before the second plane hit. It seemed that the day was just getting worse and worse. And you not only watched it on TV... you heard it too... up close!

Oklahoma City's? Toby Keith https://youtu.be/ruNrdmjcNTc
I was only 20, and a freshman or sophomore (the first or second year ... for the first or second time) at Oklahoma City University. The four main attacks of that day probably happened during my morning-classes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_for_the_day_of_the_September_11_attacks Like I say; living 'out here in the flyover states,' I didn't really feel "affected" until they started calling in soldiers to start fighting "The Longest War." (I wasn't eligible to be drafted--traumatic brain-injury--but a lot of my classmates were.) That, and the radio started playing a lot of "Patriotic Vengeance"-songs like Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue.
