This is a flowering plant called 'Chamaedorea metallica.' My younger brother cannot get over and keeps on talking about. He is associating it with a band called Metallica before. To sustain his rock n' roll moment, I gave him a go to buy it. It is not that pricey for a dollar. He is really a plantsman.
Are you a plant lover?

Yes, I have lots of plants...
That doesn't look like the plant I've seen called by that name. Maybe I'm mistaken.

@Shavkat Yes, it is. I'm not sure what the plant you're calling that is.
The Metallica plant is native to South America.

Yes, but I don't have any currently afraid kitty would eat them. I need to find somewhere to put them where he doesn't know it is there.

@snowy22315 I agree. I am glad that my dogs are not like them.

I'm not much of a houseplant person. Cat grass seems safe to grow, though, since the cats can freely chew on that. Some other plants, though, would not last for long with my benign neglect of them and our cats' not-so-benign interest.
Maybe, once we move, I can have some plants. They will have to be hardy sorts, though.

@Shavkat I think that it would be less the welfare of our cats than that of the poor plant. I envision our male cat taking out houseplants with a mighty leap and a thunderous crash.
