The bestest toy

Our cats have quite a number of toys. They just got more toys for Halloween, and there will be even more shortly. However, the toy that has captured my fuzzy boy's attention most in recent weeks is not one that was bought with them in mind. In fact, it was never meant to be a toy at all. I mentioned this before about how he had pilfered a pink hair tie from me and claimed it as a new plaything. Well, it has now been a couple of weeks, and the love for the hair tie remains strong. It is the one toy that is pretty much always guaranteed to capture his attention. You can throw it! You can chew it! It stretches! What more could a kitty ask for in a toy?

Plus it smells like another of his favorite hoomins.

Yes, and it tastes like the hoomin, too. Yeah, he likes to put his mouth on everything and everyone...

@rebelann I think that he might actually chomp if I'm not careful. His teeth are pretty bad, and I think that is due in part to a history of chewing on everything he could. I really don't know what his kittenhood was like, but I know that it was rough. He does have his moments where he is all cuddle bug. Then, he forgets his manners and starts trying to treat his sister and I like we're wildebeests and he's a mighty lion.

I've had a few cats over the years but up til now none of them ever mouthed me. When I took in Mom's kitties the smaller calico would lightly bite me, I didn't like that at first but after 6 years I've come to realize she isn't actually biting me.

They are like kids more fun with the box than the real thing. Nico though for some reason does not like boxes much. He is the only cat I have had that does not. He does have a tunnel he likes..but he just walks through it, doesn't really sit in it.

Our boy is all about the boxes. It is hard to get boxes into recycling, because he will try to claim them all before we have a chance to get them out the door. Nico has his reasons for mostly strolling through. Sure, he could sit, but he has important places to go and things to do. So, he walks through to make sure that everyone knows that's his tunnel, then he goes to take care of other important catly business.
