It's Trump Indictment Day here in the Neon Fun Jungle. And in your location, too. Even if you live in the Alternative Facts Universe because reality doesn't care about your fantasies. I really don't have to say more but I have to, anyway. Or else my Editors will fakely and dishonestly say it's too short. So, I will add: Yay. It was about time and Yippee. And, "Whew!" And I will remind all the people who said, "Sir, nothing will happen. He won't go to jail and he won't even be arrested," that they can't say that anymore. They can still say he might not go to jail but not the arrest and "nothing will happen," part. I will have much more to say on this issue as things develop but not right now. Because this champagne isn't going to drink itself. ************** LIVE UPDATES Manhattan grand jury votes to indict Trump By Elise Hammond, Tori B. Powell, Meg Wagner, Melissa Macaya, Veronica Rocha and Seán Federico O'Murchú, CNN Updated 6:54 p.m. ET, March 30, 2023

All I can say, along with all the other sane people is that it is about high time. I can't stand that B. and I really do hope he spends some time behind bars. Lord knows he deserves it. You can be sure if he doesn't, he will be spending the rest of his days in court..and will probably end up bankrupt with barely a roof over his head. It will be his karmic retribution.

@xander6464 That would be something! I wouldn't shed a tear. Now if we could only get to his buddy Putin...not that they are in the same class...Trump as far as we know, is not a mass murderer.

@TheHorse You may be on to something! -----------I think so, too. It's not what I want to be on but you know what they say, if you can't be on who you want, love what you are on.

It will be super interesting to see what really happens from here on out. But in the meantime, never say never, right?

Trump still might not be arrested. His private, donation-funded, plane is on stand-by to possibly allow him to flee the country before he can be taken into custody. It all depends on whether his Secret Service detail is made up of corrupt agents loyal to him or trustworthy agents loyal to the Constitution.

That could happen abd if it does, he can be tried and sentenced in absentia and at least that would prevent him from running for President again. Jail won't even do that so it would have an upside.

@TheHorse I had not heard this. But does he really want to commit MORE crimes against the US? I still think he's going to get off with ankle bracelets for the rest of his life. --------------Home confinement is a very real possibility and I can live with it if it comes to that, A guilty verdict is the primary goal. Actual prison would be icing on the cake.

According to European newspapers, he will be escorted in front of the Judge, his fingerprints will be taken he will be immediately released and he will never be arrested.

@evilamericans You are right, being arrested and to go to jail is not exactly the same thing. Usually politicians never go to jail, he could be an exception.

@xander6464 @evilamericans is perfectly right and I should have known, it is the same in my native language you can be "arrested" and "released" without being put to jail.

@xander6464 although if a conviction comes to fruition in a state court proceeding, it isn't subject to a federal pardon down the line.

@divalounger That is the best thing about a state conviction(s). Even if he gets elected again, he can't pardon himself.

@xander6464 — yes. Aaron Judge hit a home run. Of course, this is hardly news. I called the DA in New York and he said that, since only the Yankees matter, they would postpone the announcement until after the game.

If Trump had been a Democrat and been indicated of the same exact thing that he is being indicated now, would you still be excited about his indictment?

If he were a Democrat and doing good things for America, he would have been impeached, removed from office, tried for his felonies, convicted and sent to prison before he had been in office for two years. I don't like the Republicans but I admire how they are able to get things done when they are properly motivated. I wish Democrats had their killer instincts. All things being equal, if he were a Democrat and guilty of the same crimes, yes, I would be in favor of sending him to prison.
