When I die...

I want the epitaph on my tombstone to read: "Here lies the woman who took life seriously and died anyhow." or "Learn from me. One of the permanent things in life is death. Hence, live your life conscientiously because you only live once." or something along these lines. I made these phrases by connecting clichés. This is because sometimes we are so focused on making money that we forget to live our life to the fullest. It is often too late when we realize that we have only one life. What about you? If you were to write your epitaph, what would you write and why?

I see, well you're still young, you still have time to think about it.

@Jenaisle maybe it would be better to instill it to people around us now while we are living. If it will be in the tombstone, no one can read it after the burial

Great! That's an awesome epitaph. Happiness is not measured by what one has but of what one makes with what he/she has. I love it. It's a great principle in life as well.

I have not thought about it at all. I think I won't be dying soon and if I die now it is my loved ones who will decide what to write there and it won't matter to me anymore.

@Jenaisle Yeah I am ok if they don't write about it. I would be in another world by then and I would be forgotten in time here and what is written in my tombstone would make an impact to many unless I am a very famous person perhaps those are important. But many of us do pass on quietly and remembered for a short period of time.

This would be a good phrase for me: "A man who touched many lives."

That's so interesting - to have touched many lives. I'm sure all those you have touched will remember you all their lives.

I would write "Wasn't Born to Follow" because that is me. I am very independent.

That's a unique one, I remember Lady Gaga's song Born this way. . Being independent is not bad. Keep going.

I love the one that read, "I told you I was sick."

That is a good question. I don't really expect to have a tombstone though as I am going to be cremated. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust sort of thing. I wouldn't mind a marker or better yet, a tree planted in my honor.

I’m a hypochondriac, so mine should say, “I told you I was sick!”

This made me smile. " I told you so, and you didn't believe me."

Do it while you're young. Too many people wait until retirement to do the things they want; and then physical restraints make it impossible to live the life you want to live.
