NASA says, "time travel is possible".

I was amazed by this revelation from NASA that said: "Although humans can't hop into a time machine and go back in time, we do know that clocks on airplanes and satellites travel at a different speed than those on Earth." The article went on to say that when telescopes help us to see galaxies from far away, we might be actually seeing how the galaxies existed several years ago. This is because it takes a long time for light to travel. Light and sounds also travel at different speeds in the universe. It is an amazing thought. What do you think? Read more here:

It's never been outside of the realm of possibilities it's just having the right technology. As we grow in intelligence and study what we know and what we don't know ask the right question to find the answer. We all know it's possible it's just about when. I'm sure the government in some places has been tinkering with the short time transportation which would open the door more to time travel as well as short supports of time travel. We have some people in the world that say they are time travelers how right they are about the future is unknown since if you got back in time and change something you change the future timeline it's a risk that I wouldn't really take. Cool if we can but bad also at the same time.

I can see your point. If we are able to travel back to change something, we will indeed be changing the future as well. The explanation of NASA was true. It may not be what we see in movies about time travel, but it is related to the science or relativity. I hope you get to read the entire article on the NASA website.

@Jenaisle I don't think I'll be reading. I'm not much of a science person. I do like the topic, in general, it makes a good discussion even if you don't know the topic well. You can just imagine it. I see time is probably a lot like a doctor who or Marvel where sometimes your destination like you said isn't always what it seems. You could go back in time and hit a totally different timeline of events ones that never happened the same going forward. Endless options of possibilities and outcomes. Ones that I don't think we have anything right now that could sort out what could or would happen. Also not saying that future time travelers haven't already done that or that even maybe aliens it's a big universe out there that we have never been able to pop out of our own so who even knows what is beyond that?

@ShyBear88 Right, I like your open-minded attitude. One can never tell what the future brings. Strange things happen. The explanation of NASA is unlike the time travel movies I have watched. It was explained scientifically and based on facts, so it is believable. Anyway, as you say, "It's a big universe out there that we have never been able to pop out of our own so who even knows what is beyond that?" I absolutely agree with this statement. Your deduction is amazing.

Certainly, that might be the case, but it still needs to be demonstrated whether time travel is possible. Since we haven't developed a device that could slow time down or bend time to slow things, I believe Einstein was the one to first propose that theory many years ago.

@Jenaisle Well it still needs proof that we can travel though time and no one has done that yet.

@rsa101 Perhaps in the future, we can never tell, Decades ago, no one would ever imagine that a thing as heavy as a plane could defy gravity and fly up in the sky.

Yes, it was. They proved their theory by using planes and space travel to show that time differs through space because of how light travels.

I really don`t believe about things like that because for me past is past and we can`t change that. What we must focus on is how to improve life for the future because I will not be alive forever

I hope you get to read the article on the NASA website that I provided the link for. You will then believe in its possibility. It's truly amazing, how clearly NASA explained it.

That is true, light waves travel much faster than sound waves. Light waves do not need a medium in which to travel a but sound waves do.

I think that time is just a unit of measurement, like our height, and our weight, are measured by units of measurement too. We would not say that we could travel through weight, or height, and so to say we could travel through time, is non-sensical to me. Time does not exist, independently so. All happens now, in a way, and time just is a descriptor, or a stretching screen, on which it happens. Time could also be said to be a blackboard on which God plays his games. Time is a piece of chalk to write with, and what it writes is more important than the chalk, or the time itself. Similarly, with our life, it is what we make with/of our life, not the life itself, that is important.

@innertalks That's an insightful thought. It could happen. They say time is eternal like the universe. When one thinks about how massive the galaxies are it leads to one powerful thought that someone omniscient and omnipotent had created all this. The wonder of the human body in itself is awesome. How could the voluntary muscles function as they do in accordance with what the body needs? I know the science behind it all but who created such a complex system? There are lots of questions out there that are asking for some answers.

@Jenaisle It's just my own ideas, and thinking, about this subject of time. The Christian Bible tells us that God measures his time differently than what we do, so time can be measured in many ways, and I am sure if intelligent life exists on another planet somewhere, they would also measure time, in their own way too. We used to base our time around the Sun, as it takes a year for the Earth to circle the Sun, but now, scientifically, we measure it atomically, as it is more accurate a measure of time, they say. Even the atom is not the be-all, and end-all of it all though, and there are said to be many other particles, much smaller than an atom, perhaps other aliens might base their time on something more advanced than us, on a graviton, a particle of gravity, for example, who knows.

I have seen some documentaries, YouTube videos and read articles on this topic. Yes, sub atomic and other particles can be made to travel through time but grand things must be readied to do the same for Humans. And that would need some super strong and high velocity spacecrafts.
