Cino de Mayo

United States
May 5, 2023 10:39am CST
Happy Friday Everyone! guess what...it isn't raining (yet). Still no sunshine but it doesn't seem as dismal as it's been. The weekend looks nice and I'll be happy to see the sun. I'm hoping to get out and do something if the weather is nice. Even if it's going for ride and just enjoying being out of the house. This week just seemed to drag and I'm going to blame it all on the weather. I got up feeling more energetic (thank goodness) changed my bed and have my sheets in the wash. I got pretty new blue sheets recently so I decided to put them on my bed and not be lazy and just wash and put the current ones back on the bed. I'm hoping I continue to feel ambitious and can get other stuff done that I've put off the past few days. Making chili for dinner tonight and that's the closest I'm getting to celebrating Cino De Mayo. Are you celebrating Cino De Mayo?

We didn't have rain today. For that I am thankful. We did need the rain, but I really wanted to get outside and do some yard work. I am hoping to get pizza for dinner. This momma is tired of trying to think up dinner every night.

I'm in a rut when it comes to planning dinners too. Pizza always works

No, Cinco de Mayo is not my thing, but I know a lot of people like to use it as a reason to go drink.

No, I don’t celebrate. It’s raining again here today. I haven’t been further out than my deck. It’s a dreary day.

The fifth of May isn't even a holiday in Mexico - so, no.
The holiday commemorates a Latino tradition in the United States and Mexico of fighting against racism and colonialism.

We need rain. It sort of rained until 9 yesterday morning. Social committee had queso dip and chips for staff at school for Cinco de Mayo.

I think that's what they call here, Flores de Mayo. There's usually a parade with beautiful women and then a religious procession, I'm not so much knowledgeable about it. I'm going to change my bedsheets. I need new ones too.

Nope. Have something coming up that I'll be living for in about an hour, but that's about it.

We still have solid cloud cover here but the rain and storms are supposedly out of our forecast. It's 64F at 11:30 am, heading for a possible 70F this afternoon. This weekend we'll supposedly reach into the high 80s or very low 90s with lots of sun. That sounds nice... I'm hoping it really will turn out that way. Nah... It's not "our" holiday and nobody I know celebrates it. I hope you enjoy your day.

It's good you were energetic and it didn't rain. I always enjoy putting new sheets on the bed.
