I thought that was a really good price. It was at Lidl, which is a store like Aldi. I heard that eggs are going to go up in price again due to a bird flu, so might as well get them while the getting is good. Have you gotten any good bargains lately, you would like to share?

Our Aldi had eggs for 1.29 the other day, but I didn't get them because we are stocked on eggs for now. I remember not too long ago eggs at Aldi were like 6 something .

That is good. I like Lidl more than Aldi, because Aldi has raised prices so much on certain items.

@snowy22315 We don't have Lidl here - I think - but I have heard so much about it from you guys. For the longest time we didn't have Aldi either, now they're popped up everywhere. I want to go to a Lidl!!!!

Eggs price has not yet dropped here because of the bird flu. I paid at Aldi $ 5.49 for 15 eggs (yes they are sold by 15 here).

@snowy22315 We had a lot until they had to kill most of the hens because of the avian flu. In 6 weeks the young hens should start laying eggs.

That would be really cheap here. Eggs here are $5-6 a dozen but of course it's all relative. It doesn't make a lot of sense to compare prices between countries but I still do it!

How much do local farmers charge for eggs? Here farmers charge anywhere from 4 to 6 per dozen, so you are just paying to get a local home grown, egg. When sis was taking care of ducks at Thanksgiving, she collected some of the eggs...and 6 of us split like 10 duck eggs. They tasted a bit dry I thought.

@JudyEv See, they should charge less here...because eggs don't cost that much in stores at this point. Never had turkey eggs..Don't you agree duck eggs taste a bit dry?

@snowy22315 The farmers still charge $4-5 a dozen. I'm not keen on duck eggs, or turkey eggs for that matter.

I bought a couple dozen eggs at Aldi for a good price. I would have bought more but I didn’t want them to spoil before I could use them.
