Flattered or flabbergasted?

Canada
August 11, 2023 7:04pm CST
Today I was walking home from the supermarket and I was halfway up the hill when I was stopped by a guy young enough to be my grandson. (18 or 19 yrs old) First he bummed a smoke from me then he says; "You got some nice b**bs eh?" I just looked at him dumbstruck. I wouldn't be flattered to hear a line like that from someone my own age. Certainly not from a teenager.

I wouldn't be flattered at all too! He's just the same age as my son and even if it was from a stranger of my age, I wouldn't be flattered at all.

Oh My God! That would take me for a shock, forget about being flattered. I would not be comfortable even if it came from a stranger of my age. I would find it rude and uncultured.

"Oh thanks. I got them at Walmart" or some other smart line would be what I would want to come up with, but I think I would also be dumbstruck and just maybe say "Who asked you?' That is just so weird and inappropriate.

I used to do that or talk like that till a lady turned it on me, Even bartender said stop you making me uncomfortable. To be fair she liked my driver license, not that I was being a jerk because not going down like that. I then asked thats how I make you women feel. They said not you but maybe sometimes you say something stupid but just in general what we put up with.

@TheHorse You mean with a tin cup and a dog? No. I figured his parents wouldn't give him one. Except for the foot in his mouth he seemed well rounded. Was hanging out with his friends. He was the only one that approached me.

Omg, that's not appropriate! He needs to be taught about respect and consent!

Young people these days have no filters and no limits. Sociologists blame the time of isolation during adolescent development for creating an entire cohort of socially inept youth.

It is a sad thing that his parents taught him not to respect others. And at his age it is doubtful he will learn it.

Not acceptable behavior at all. That would not make me happy, either. Please be safe!
