Margaritaville

Over the weekend we visited Universal City Walk - an entertainment / dining / shopping strip next to Universal Studios Hollywood. It wasn't our first time there, but we hadn't been there in a few years . One of the signs that caught my eye was outside of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville - a bar and grill restaurant We didn't eat there, however it did remind me of myLot friends ( @FourWalls and @NJChicaa especially) whom I know were big fans of the late Jimmy Buffet. We had a great time walking and perusing through City Walk. The worst part perhaps were the prices of everything . The evening ended with a lovely sushi dinner - maybe next time we'll make it over to Margaritaville. Do you see places or things that remind you of myLot folks?

Well, when the Browns won yesterday I thought of @LindaOHio , and then when the Commanders lost yesterday I thought at least @snowy22315 has a quarterback with Sam Howell, even if they lost.

Thanks for thinking of me! Lots of things remind me of fellow myLotters--gross food, chain restaurants, shopping carts (it's a @porwest thing), etc. We ate at the Margaritaville restaurant in Cozumel, Mexico once and it wasn't good. We also had drinks there a different year out on the deck by the water on hanging swings and it was so fun. . . until the bartender gave us tequila slammers. Gross!

That's exactly who I think of when I see an Aldi cart . Sorry the food wasn't good there - I don't know if the menus are similar here. I don't know if I would be able to handle a tequila slammer these days . . . ohhh but I'd love the swings!!!

@much2say All the time I spend here trying to soak people with my financial wisdom and all I get to be remembered for is a shopping cart. Oh well.

It probably has happened, but nothing comes to mind. There was a Margaritaville restaurant in Fburg that closed down. I went to one one at Universal Studios in Florida one time though.

I did hear something about Margaritaville not doing so well. I actually didn't really know about the restaurant until this last September when Jimmy Buffet passed away. I'd love to see Universal Studios in FL and how it compares to here!

@snowy22315 I would love to go out to Disney World! Disneyland is out here - and yah - it's crazy expensive. We haven't gone in years either . . . plus it's crazy crowded no matter what day/time you go.

@changjiangzhibin89 Oh yes! There are quite a few Chinese communities across Los Angeles too. In college, I was friends with many in the Chinese Club . . . many were actually from China.

It is a bar and grill - surely margueritas would be on the cocktail list. Yes, Hollywood is the land of the movies . . . but I guess I take that for granted as I have lived here for so long.

Aw… Yes, there are a lot of things that make me think of myLotters! Because I’m so ignorant of geography in India, I worry about all of the myLotters from that nation whenever something happens there.

We have been bot to Universal Studios Hollywood and later to Universal Studios in Orlando (FL). You cannot compare the two, the park in California is so much better. I think to remember that we have been to a Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville in Key West.

Oh my gosh, I just caught your reply here - I'm so sorry!! Ah, you've been to both! I have always wondered about the Orlando one - I've never been out to Florida. I don't know what year you were out here for that, but Universal Studios has changed so much . . . the tram tour is not as long and they have installed so many rides. I suppose they had to change to keep up with current times - maybe young folks don't know a lot of the older films. Do you remember the food at all at the Margaritaville you went to? Maybe we will try it someday. Eating out is so expensive these days though .

@much2say - It was a very long time ago when I visited the Universal Studios in Los Angeles, I think to remember the early 90s. I liked a lot more all the California parks than Florida parks. Disney World is a lot bigger than Disneyland, but Disneyland is much nicer. I remember nothing at all about the food we had at Margaritaville. This means that it was not exceptions, or we would remember.

When certain football teams win or lose I think about some members here. When I hear news about certain cities and states I think of our members in those areas too. Have a great day.
