We’re off to a brunch shortly to celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. When we lived in the country, they lived about a kilometre from us but shifted to Perth before we did. They have five acres and over 100 rose bushes. The whole place was developed as a garden but as they got older, the upkeep became too much and they needed to scale down. They moved to Perth and are much nearer their two daughters and four grandchildren now. They still have about a dozen rose bushes and she is president of Western Australia’s rose society. It will be good to catch up with them. The photo is of a long table lunch they had under their pergola.

A hundred rose bushes had to be a wonderful sight. They still have a beautiful garden, this pergola is a great place where to sit and have lunch.

Australia has a good climate for roses. You often see them struggling along in deserted farmyards.

What a beautiful picture. Must have been nice having lunch under that pergola. Hope you enjoy the lunch today and that the birthday lady enjoys her celebration. Wow I bet all those rose bushes were amazing.

@Marilynda1225 It took them a while to sell and they were getting really impatient. I found that hard to understand in a way as I was very sad at having to leave our acreage. But I guess my background was rural and theirs was suburban which probably made the difference.
