Chocolate chip cherry chookies - uh oh, sorry, cookies

We were introduced to this village by old friends who now live about ten doors up from us. They have become good friends of their neighbours and by association, we are now too. The six of us take it in turns to have coffee at one of our houses after the movies and we get together on other occasions too.
The ‘new’ couple are both in their eighties although they are both very secretive about how much into their eighties they are! We are continually trying to trick them into giving away their ages and they enjoy the joke as much as we do.
The last two weeks, the wife has had two nights in hospital. She followed this up by getting covid and now her husband has just got over it after catching it from her.
It’s social night at the clubhouse tonight but they won’t be going so I made some chocolate chip cherry cookies to drop in on our way there. Vince has tested one to see if they’re edible and it seems they are so that’s good to know.

@JudyEv Oh ok, so were the ChChCh cookies for the clubhouse, or did you drop them off for the 80's 'n thriving couple..
Also, I might have to make a batch of these for my dad.

In my job, I get to speak to many people of advancing years. Most are quite happy to state exactly how old they are

@JudyEv I forget how old I am sometimes. I'm not old, although my teen might argue that
My eldest son almost forgot how old he was as well. He was born at the beginning of 2000. It couldn't be any easier for him to work out

What kind of cherries did you use? Dried cherries? Or cherry chips like chocolate chips. You guys have a fun social life.

They were glace cherries so dried I guess but not dry like raisins. Every Friday some go up to the clubhouse just for a social time.

Just to be clear, there are 150 houses in the village but the six of us have formed a special friendship. All the people here are very nice.
