What would be your conversation starter when making friends?

I am humbly going to say that I am good at making friends. A simple conversation starter can do the trick. For me, I just say hi and give the sweetest smile. I wondered how you do it, guys. I am sure you have this conversation starter. Would you like to share some of them here? Image Credit: uhills.org

Usually I just smile to people and they are those who immediately try to start a conversation.

Sometimes a simple gesture of smiling can really start a conversation with others.

I agree. Like today, I saw a man with two puppies. I started to smile and ask about them. Then, we talked a lot about his cutesy fur puppies.

I really don’t know. I usually just smile automatically, and ask how they are.

Indeed. We can have a simple question, and everything starts with it.

If you can get a person talking about themselves, then they will think you are a great person! lol

You said it right. Humans can adjust and adapt to certain environments. Once we start it, we build good relationships with others.

I'm more shy offline than I am on. I norally just greet a person and let them decide if they want to converse.

I had developed into an ambivert as compared to being an introvert before. I must say that greeting them can make them feel special.

Recently I found myself trying to socialize with other moms from my daughter's school and I started with our common interest, which was the kids in my case. I think finding something others can relate with is always a good way to start a conversation.

@Shavkat Yes that happens too. In that case everyone just minds their own business and just basic conversations and greetings.

I agree with you. In my neighborhood, I cannot withstand talking with them. We really do not have common interest, but to no avail.
