4/12/24 - Update on My Husband

I have some wonderful news. When my husband tried to walk yesterday, the guys held on to him but DID NOT support him. He was able to walk back and forth 3 times.
I called the Admissions Director at the new facility. She said to have the Social Worker call her first and then fax the Referral to her. I will call the Social Worker again this morning and give her the instructions. It may come down to me hand delivering the Referral myself if they don't get it.

@LindaOHio He has been in bed or on a chair for so long, he must learn to move his feet.
I have seen the therapists here using safety gait belts when the patient stars to walk using a walker.

Linda, that's such great news! Maybe he'll be home before you know it.
I'm so sorry you're not well. Do you think it might be Covid? Of course I'll be praying God will heal you.

I guess today I'll have our housekeeper drag me out a COVID test. I probably should make sure before I visit my husband again.

What an amazing break through in his recovery.
It won't be long now.
I think that you have the right idea of picking up the referral and bringing it over yourself.
You must do what others fail to do, this is yours and his life that is on hold as a result.

The Referral was finally received; but now Admissions says there's no beds available. :-(

Turns out she faxed it to the wrong number the first time (and she was so cocky about knowing all the phone numbers, etc.)

I hope he continues to gain strength and hopefully can also gain some weight as well. Little steps, he seems very determined to get through this tough time.

Bob's urologist at the VA does not ever want things faxed to him, he says they get lost. We hand carry whatever is necessary. Your husband is working hard and that is a great thing. He has things to look forward to and that is great motivation.
