Just In Shock

United States
April 19, 2024 2:39pm CST
Watching the news, outside of Trump trial a man set himself on fire. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Just the thought of being on fire is so unpleasant, let alone doing that to myself. You could see the flames. It totally upset me, and the sight was just horrific. Been a few weeks since I've been here but that really got to me. Shocking, just shocking.

I wish they wouldn’t show that on the news. Mental illness should not be sensationalized. I hate that it is stuck in your mind now. Please check in and let us know how you are doing; it doesn’t feel “okay” to watch the news anymore.

I wonder if this man was for or against Trump. Only God knows, why he did this!

@kobesbuddy The thought of killing yourself is bad enough, but by fire.

Yikes - I hadn't heard about this yet. Long ago, my classmate's father did this in front of his house . . . how horrific and yes, so shocking to hear about it (but oh, to see it like you did on the news - yikes!).

Shocking and totally unnecessary, Whatever was that man thinking, First of all he is now critical and second he's from Florida, I am beginning to think that all the looney tunes live here in Florida with me,

I missed it when it actually happened but I saw a 4 minute video of a CNN analyst who was covering the Trump trial share what she was seeing as it occurred. Shocking.

@MarieCoyle Last I saw the man is still alive but obviously in critical condition. I expect that he will pass. I can't even imagine doing such a thing.

I didn't see him actually on fire, just heard the CNN commentator talk about it while it happened. There were many police there at the time, it was shocking that he set himself on fire.

People will do almost anything. I wonder if that man lived, if he does somehow survive he seriously needs help.

Sorry you had to see such morbid show against your will. It got me curious though, I couldn't find the scene but found out more about the guy and the conspiracies he wanted to promote through his act. He might be as mad as a hatter but his willpower is impressive. If Max is really the guy, some news article seem to report so.

Setting oneself on fire is the worst day to die due to the pain from the flames.
