My computer stopped working

Yesterday I was trying to use my computer. It was evening. I turned it on, I tried to open Chrome. It didn't respond to anything I did. I tried again and again. I turned it off and restarted it again and again. I became a little panicked thinking that I should take it to service and I would lose my information. And I changed the mouse. It finally worked. I changed the battery recently because it's a wireless mouse. I think the mouse is failing. It was a very cheap mouse. I am glad that I didn't have to take it to a repair shop.

I am still not very sure if the mouse was the problem because I changed the batteries recently. I am relieved, but a bit worried because it can happen again.

@dya80dya You need to back up your stuff so you can retrieve it if something happens to your laptop.

Yes, I am relieved because I thought that I would lose everything I have on it. They will reinstall Windows and I don't have a backup.

I'm glad you didn't either. They charge an arm and a leg. And typically the problem is a simple fix.

I hope this was the problem. But I will tell you something weird. I tried to use another mouse with my laptop and it stopped working too. So I have two kinds of mice that stopped working even if I didn't use them so often. I think the batteries need to be replaced.

This is a computer I bought recently. I donated the old one to my mom. It would be too soon to get it to the repair shop.

Till the computer is fixed, I will not rest in peace! Most times, it is some minor issue like what you had.

Have you found out what was the problem with the desktop? This happened several times for me too, not only once. I thought the batteries needed to be replaced, but it happened again and again. Was your desktop old?

@dya80dya No;I have not.I used it for 9 years and then it stopped functioning.I took it to a computer mechanic. He checked it thoroughly and then suggested me they I should dump it and buy a new desktop.I then preferred to buy a tab.Now the tab has permanently stopped working and I'm accessing Internet with my phone.
