What are some of YOUR favorite poems that relate to your life? To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Rudyard Kipling - photo of British author and poet Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
One of my most favorite poems was written by Rudyard Kipling. IF If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master; If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings -- nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -- Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

My husband is the poet in the family and my best friend in this picture is the painter. I still haven't figured out my role such as yet.

My love, I have tried with all my being to grasp a form comparable to thine own, but nothing seems worthy; I know now why Shakespeare could not compare his love to a summer’s day. It would be a crime to denounce the beauty of such a creature as thee, to simply cast away the precision God had placed in forging you. Each facet of your being whether it physical or spiritual is an ensnarement from which there is no release. But I do not wish release. I wish to stay entrapped forever. With you for all eternity. Our hearts, always as one.

Napoleon Hill - Author of Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
I really Loved this one"If you think you are beaten, you are, If you think you dare not, you don't, If you like to win, but you think you can't, It is almost certain you won't.""If you think you lose, you're lost, For out in the world we find, Success begins with a fellow's will-- It's all in the state of mind.""If you think you are outclassed, you are, You've got to think high to rise, You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize.""Life's battles don't always go To the stronger or faster man, But soon or late the man who wins Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN! sucessful - we will win
O Lord! don't give me success, If it takes away my freedom;Don't give me success, If it pulls me in the ditch of pride;O Lord! don't give me success, If it makes me alone; If it takes away my friends, If it makes me deaf to hear the forest;O Lord! don't give me such a success, If it takes me away from thy beauty;Don't give me success, O Lord! If it takes me away from You!

LIFE – A MELODRAMA OF LABOUR The melodrama of labour, The menace of failure The determination to achieve, To make one believe That success can be near, Turns down the failure-fear And a step you advance, success seems to cling Give more thrust and advance, And you find yourself in success ring. Success succumbs to the brave, Cowards fear success break Paradoxically the want is universal Made by planned series of rehearsals. How many can cut the joy of enjoying? Or learn enjoying in the work? How many can realize the joy is work? And learn working without end? Complacence succumbs to success, But significant is its degree So calls for success after success, Ongoing till breath can be! Falls to be without distress, And success to be without rest Just as Nature weaves the flowers, Without heed to the whither-showers. Success is all pervasive, Success: light or massive Success is sugar of life, The sprout of Success is bright. No onset, No end, Success has in its blend Image of one’s deity And gratefulness for complacence. This is the tale of life, This is the consent of joy & spice From a success in having breaths To an all successful life! yo!

i love Max Ehrmann's DESIDERATA Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. Max Ehrmann, Desiderata, Copyright 1952.

He rgret it when wait for final punishment I can;lt translate it since it use konotation language. So sory CERMIN KEHIDUPAN (live mirror) Aku termenung Menatap noda-noda hitam Sebening telaga tenang Menghakimiku yang terpekur diam Menunggu dalam resah dan gundah Sisa tangan berlumur darah Dalam saksi bisu tanah merah Kala menanti datangnya makamah Cermin Kehidupan.... Bentangkan layar putih pengakuan Yang menjadi rahasia alam Pada gelap dan kesunyian Terhimpit kaca bening Ujung harapan tak kunjung tampak Kala aku bercermin ulang Kembali aku terpekur diam

That was a good one... I wrote this one right before I turned 25, You Can't Hide I hold no prejudice I retain no opinion about your wealth or power You can’t screen, retreat, recover, or recoil from me As you keep passing me by You can’t help or contribute to me I outlast the elements as I hold no sentiments I wait for history to mold me Too many people have wasted me Now they have come face to face with me While many try to forget about me I will catch up to you Many have treated me unfaithfully Now they are enduring me painfully Who am I? I am TIME
