If there is another site similar to mylot that pays higher for each post....

would you shift to that site? With the continuing success of mylot, it would be probable that there will be sites that would try to contest with mylot. If it pays higher for each post, would you shift to that site or would you still be loyal to mylot?

I wouldn't shift, but I would add the site to my little arsenal of places to write on. I already have several things that I do and some that are waiting for me to sit down and explore. Takes time to put together a package that works out well!

As for now, I guess, there's no site that pays similar to mylot.

Yes there is... http://www.payposter.com/index.php?refer=rainbowbright I found one that is great so far. They are new, but payposter is paying out. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I will definetly check it out, looks less restrictive and you can start polls which I always have like to do in forums and is frowned upon on Mylot....

That;s an interesting question. I would think that if there were a real competitor, myLot would probably do something to try to get their posters to stay. I probably would check out the other site though. But since I have been here, my loyalty would be to myLot. I have invested a lot of time and energy to get where my ratings are now. I would hate to have to start all over again. Hopefully, myLot will work out all the kinks that we find here and there. Then, even if there is competition, myLot will be better in the long run.

It's funny that you mention loyalty ... I think many of us here have had the thought, what if MyLot really takes off and we start getting paid less? I think I may have even seen discussions along these lines. We expect MyLot to keep paying us, to perhaps give bonuses to those who "prove" their loyalty ... but if another site comes along that will make us more money you better believe that most people are "packing bags and movin' on". The thing about loyalty is that it works both ways or it won't work at all!

I agree with you imadriscoll. So mylot admin, there's a competitor out there who's out to get a hold of some of the mylot users.

I'd agree with there brokentia. Mylot admin wouldn't just sit there and watch mylot users transfer to the competitors.

I just found a great site that is very much like myLot. http://www.payposter.com/index.php?refer=rainbowbright I joined and have already been racking up points toward my first payout. There are some great differences...you know how much each post, discussion gives you in points. There are also other things you can do to make points toward payout. I am going to try to do both and see which I like best or if I can keep them both going, then I will.

The payout is $10, the same is with myLot, they pay through paypal and e-gold. The difference is, once you reach your payout, you can request it to be paid, you don't have to wait for a month to get your money. http://www.payposter.com/index.php?refer=rainbowbright 1000 points = $10 but you get 2 points per comment on discussion. you get 3 for starting a discussion, plus other ways to earn points. I am still checking it all out, but so far I have 109 points, but only 9 posts and I just signed up today.

So you have not yet received anything from them? If you do, please do inform us so that we can compare it also with mylot. Thanks.

Wow, thanks for the link to the site! I hadn't heard of it yet, and it sounds interesting. I'll have to go over there and check out the payout and how things work. I don't think that I'll get involved if it looks like the payout will be higher than Mylot's, though. But it sounds awesome! ^_^

I wouldn't switch. I would just be on both, probably equally. If it payed a lot more, then I would be on it more than mylot, but just like if id get 1$ more each month, I would be on mylot more often. I would definately visit both though.

At least there's no harm in trying other forum paying sites right? If it pays less, why leave mylot. Better to stay here.

I would like to think that even if there were several sites paying as well as (or better than) Mylot that I would try to keep up with all of them, and not just give up on Mylot. The one thing that might make me move away from this site to another one would be if the other site or sites had a lower payout, although from what I've heard the $10 payout shouldn't be too hard to reach if I keep posting every day. I'm becoming addicted to posting here at Mylot very quickly, lol! Anyway, I hope that a few more sites like Mylot _do_ pop up. It would be good to have some more around that pay at least as well as this one does! ^_^

You are right you can easily reach the $10 limit if you post quality posts. There are plenty of discussion here on myLot that offer tips for getting to the $10 limit. I have only be here for two pay periods, but I have hit the $10 each time. Good luck!

For the $10 payout, I think it's not hard to achieve that in a short span of time as long as you post quality questions and responses.

I might try that site but will never leave myLot. I have made such nice friends here and not planning to leave them for money for sure.

Yes, having friends here in mylot is also one good reason why users tend to come back to mylot and of course the added pay :)

I Love mylot. Taste very of the friends who I have here, and of the easiness that meeting in being able to answer some questions. However the English is not my maternal language, then, I finish getting tired itself trying to translate the questions that many times I do not understand well. However if it found another place, I think that it would also join me, but would not abandon mylot.

Hi lulylove. Joining mylot earns you 3: money, FRIENDS, and of course along the way you are also learning English. It takes a long time too really practice correct english, even the most adept actually make mistakes in grammar. Just speak your mind and those who read will understand it in some way.

This is not the first time I am involved in a work. I will distribute my full works to all of my works and check if there is extra for new work. I am busy in mangaging the works in which I am involved. Fortunately I have managed some hours for Mylot.

Hi there! Do you consider posting in mylot as work? Well, if that's what you do I guess you're earning a lot..wink. As for me this is just an additional source for of "income".

There is a limit to the number of similar sites that anyone can join and still contribute a meaningful response. Unless of course that you envisage cutting and pasting your own discussions between them which I am sure will not be allowed. There is also a problems that what you post on Mylot could be copied by someone else and then used on the other sites for them to earn money with your own posts. Incidentally who owns the copyright for what is posted on Mylot, is it Mylot or is it the contributer?, in either case it would not be ethical for someone else to copy your discussion to these other sites. There are already a number of people on Mylot who just copy other peoples discussions or replies. I would hope that the moderators on these other sites will police them properly.

I'm not quite sure if there will be copyright infringement on my own post if I would decide to cut and paste my own post. I'm not going to do this though. In the case of others copying your post and pasting it on other forums, I guess it's very hard to track this unless it so happen that you're in the same forum. At least here in mylot, they are working hard to track these cut and pasters with the help of the users.

i wouldn't give up on mylot, but i will definitely try others. i mean who wouldn't, if it means extra cash?!;) but of course there are other factors that i might consider, like for example, the people in that community.
