I as an adult choose not to watch TV but spend endless hours online!

Do you think that i am making a good choice here. I do not watch TV because I don't like kinds of things that I see on it. I do watch comedy shows and other videos online however. I just want more control over what I watch. Besides we don't have cable in our home, we choose not to have cable and thus we get 4 or 5 channels depending on how hard the wind is blowing out here!

I'm with you on that though when I say I don't watch TV I mean in 2 years of living here I have turned on the TV less than 8 times and usually I turn it right back off.

It's either we both made a good choice or a bad one. I seem to spend more time on the computer in one day than I spend in front of the television for at LEAST a month. Even when I watch TV, I sometimes have it on when some big news comes on, but I only listen to it. I also mostly would maybe watch a repeat of an older show or movie, or maybe it's to watch a tape. OK - why is that base line of Temptations' "Ball of Confusion" suddenly playing in my mind?

Well, in my opinion, the internet is interactive whereas sitting in front of the idiot box is not. The internet keeps ya thinkin' and the TV zombifies people.

that is exactly how I feel. It's so cool to know that someone understands what I mean!

I'm always amazed by people who can rattle of the TV Guide like it's a poem they had to memorize for English class. I've never been a big television fan, although admittedly, I do like to lose myself in mindless sitcoms or animated shows now and then (I have this weird affinity for Stewie and the rest of the crew on Family Guy lol). There are a few that I like enough to watch if I happen to have the time or be near a tv that's already on so it catches my attention (like CSI, Law & Order...) But, I prefer spending time on my computer, both online and off.
