How old were you when you met yout life companion? Was it love at first sight? A bit of a struggle? Temptation first, love later? Totally physical on the first date? Mine was still married when I met him and I was recently divorced. I moved away for a year and then moved back the next remeeting him in a Mall. Thats when I found out he was divorced and he found out I still was. We began commiserating each other over our divorces and from that talk developed a deeper friendship that went to marriage. From counseling to committment! LOL

i met my husband in highschool. He was only the 3rd guy i ever dated. we dated for 1/12 years, and got married. Had a baby (pregnant when married), and had 2 more children together. we have for sure had our poor times, our sad times, and our best times. But after 25 years, I look forward to many more experiences such as being grandparents, and seeing our children become adults, and enjoying traveling, it only gets better from here on out!!

Thats great. I love to hear about people who stay with the first person (or nearly first) that they dated! I am very glad that I didn't though. But I applaud those people who have the emotional intelligence and luck to have made a good choice first time round.

I saw her first time when my mothers friend invited us for a dinner and there she was introduced to me as her niece. I was 28 and she was 23. I liked her elegance and told my mom that night I wont mind asking her hand if she not engaged till now, so phone rang here and there for few hours and by morning I got a news she not engaged so I told my mom's friend would she mind if I drop by and have a chat with her? so cut the long story short we got engaged in next 48 hours and got married exactly 20 years ago. All these years we loved each other, fought with each other, cheated on other(she emotionaly(?) and I physically), raised three wonderfull kids and we still loving each other...

Further I must clearify that it was not love at first sight. I just thought she might turn into a wonderfull wife whom I might love.

I was 35, it was interest at first site, we were both hiking at Mount Rogers in Virginia -- I was thru hiking the Appliachain Trail and he was weekend hiking with friends. We stayed in the same shelter one night, the next day he asked me to contact him when I got closer to his home town -- it was a couple of more weeks before I got to a phone -- but long story short, I called him, we had dinner and a movie, I never got back on the trail, we got married in 1996 and have been on the honeymoon ever since! :)

Love at first sight led to marriage - Love at first sight led to marriage. we have been married for 25 wonderful years.
I was 18 when I first met the love of my life. It was the first week of university and I fell headlong, love at first sight! But he was not interested in relationships at that stage - with anyone. So I waited for him. We became best friends. Two years later I told him how I felt and within a couple of months he realized he loved me too. We were both still at university so waited...we became engaged the day we both graduated from uni. And we married the next year. We have been married for 25 wonderful years - 26 in March:)

I met my husband when he was married to somebody else. We met through mutual friends, and over the years we became very close plutonic friends. He supported me when I went through a really rough break-up with a lot of emotional abuse. After I had known him for 3-4 years, he and his wife split up. Two months later he asked me to get involved with him. A month after that I said yes. We just passed our fifth anniversary.

I met my husband when I was 16. I had little fling boy friends but when I met him it was different. It was like I found the other half of me. We had hardly nothing in common, but we loved each other so much. That was 11 years ago, and 10 of that being marriage. We have only had maybe three really big arguements over the years but we got threw them. We both have the out look of not going to bed mad. It seems like we just said I do, it is hard to believe the so much time has passed!!!!

I meet my life companion when i was 27 years old we were matched by a common friend. We dated for about 3 times and then we lost touch we both thought that we were not ready for a relationship but after five years of no contact he finally search for me through friendster and search for me for 3 days we started dating again and became a couple. He sang to me while i was walking down the aisle on our wedding day. It's like a fairy tale love story.

I was 30 and he was 48, this was two years ago. I was the breakup chick when he finally extrecated himself from twenty year of hell. I am certain that they were happy years in those twenty so lets call it 20 minutes of heaven followed by a ten year tenure track to hell. And 10 years of struggling against the undertow trying to rescue the love that got him there in the first place. I was engaged to someone else when he and I first hooked up. He asked me how the job of boyfriend could be obtained and I told him I wasn't hiring. A year later the relationship had ended and before I could wonder, what ever happened to .... He wa back in my life and now he and I are making plans to make me his wife. I gotta wonder are people who recently disolved a marriage nuts? I mean the evidence that love can twist around and bite you is firsthand and still fresh and yet we turn right back around and start pounding the prison gates wanting to get right back in after we served our time. What is so darned powerful in love to make us blind, deaf, dumb, and crazy enough to keep holding out hope?

First met around 4 years back when our first semester started, became friend till the end of first semester. We were in a group of 11 people and we were very much close to each other precisely we were best friends. Got into the commitment three years back and still waiting our studies to be finished before we get married. So it can't be classified as love at first sight. Waiting to be married before any physical relation and we have never been on date. We just meet in our group gatherings and keep increasing our mobile bills by talking a lot for hours and hours.

i am 19 year old. and i met the girl whome i love soo much 5months earlier. we both love each other a lot. but i cant say that this love is going to lea us to marriage. but for now we both just knows that we love each other and doesn't worry about what people are going to saay. when we met her for the first time we became good friends. then we had many meet before i could make out that i am in love with that girl. then i proposed her one day but she refused as she thought that no one can be in love in soo short period of time. but then i didnt loose hope. i continued our friendship and the next time i proposed her,she agreed. but we didnt went practical on the first day

We met on board a ship and I was drunk and seasick for the first three days. Not a good first impression!!! We courted for a year (certainly NOT living together) and gradually came to love each other and then married. That was 37 years ago and we are still lovers and happy together. The secret: I always (eventually) admit that my wife is right, even when I put the thought into her mind in the first place!
