What kind of heat do you have and what do you pay monthly? I have gas heat and it cost me around $300 US dollars a month. In the cold Months.

last winter we bought a pellet stove/burner. We spend 220 dollars for a ton of pellets(actually 60 bags) and we may have to get a few more bags this winter but at the most we will spend is 250 dollars all winter!

A pellet stove is kind of like a fireplace. But it is ran on electricity. They burn lil wood pellets and we heat our whole house with it. The thing with a pellet stove is that it is not hidden. It actually doesnt look bad though, it adds alot to a place. They are getting more and more popular! Wal-Mart even sells pellets now!

The kind of heat I have is oil, but I try to supplement with one of those non-tippable kerosine heaters here and there. Last year it cost me $500-$600 per month, and that was living at around 62 degrees. I sure hope this year is easier on our pocketbooks!

I have electric. I live in PA and in the cold months it costs between $400-500 to heat my house. However, I don't think my house is well insulated and I know I will need replacement windows soon.

I have electric and in the cold months, it usually runs me around $400 to $500. I have a big, old house. We replaced most of the windows two years ago, but the house is poorly insulated, so it wasn't much help. The most ridiculous part about it is that we are paying a furtune to freeze are butts off, because it's never toasty warm in here during the winter. Thank goodness, we do have two fireplaces and that does help warm up some of the rooms on the main floor, but other rooms are just brrrr.

I have gas and it costs me about 200.00 a month. This is for a pretty small house to. Hopefully the gas prices will stay down, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
