So many people take the seperation of church and state out of context to what it was originally set in place for. And consequently we end up with people stating that we need to take prayer out of schools, the ten commandments off walls, and Chritmas decorations out of public places all in the name of seperation of church and state. Did we need security guards in our schools while we had prayer in them? Did we need metal detectors in our schools while we had prayer in them? All I know is that since they took prayer out of our schools they have been going down hill every since. Maybe if they had listened in school more they would know why that policy was put into place by our forefathers. It was so You didn't have countries ruling the church telling them what religion you had to be. That was why so many came to our country in the first place. Religious freedom. Now People use that phrase "seperation of church and state" to limit our freedom as Christians. We have to be so careful that we don't offend another persons religion or beliefs that they don't realize that what they are doing is offensive to Christians. But I guess that doesn't count not in our world today. Its sad.

I just dont see why we are suppose to change our rights to prayer in school. Our country fought for freedoms and now they want to change those very freedoms that we sought to preserve. What about all of the people who gave their lives to preserve God and Country , in this country? I agree with you , it is sad.

I don't think there is a problem with it. I know when I was in school it was kept a little seperate. I was in a bible club in school and we had lunch together and said a prayer before eatting and talked about the bible. However as that not everyone is taught religion I do feel that there should be the option available that children do not have to participate if they do not wish and that those that do should not treat others differently and shouldn't be treated differenly for it. What do you mean off the money? That is riddiculus. Is it just because of it saying god on it? That is going too far.

I think when they took prayer out of school, it was a terrible mistake. Look at what has been happening in our schools since? There has been more violence and now more parents are saying that they want home school because of it.

When I was in high school we use to have a moment of silence. Everyone could pray their own personal prayer, and those who did not want to pray did not have to, all they had to do is just be quite for just a few minutes, so I don't see it as a problem. Prayer should not be taken out of school.

The trouble with having prayer in school, is you would have to include prayer for every person who is in class. If you have a class that is all the same religion, you have no problem. If you have a mixed class - which is not unusual in some public schools in major urban centres - you have to have a prayer for the Catholics, antoher for the various Protestant sects, a seperate one for the Jews and Moslems, a circle each for the pagans and Native Americans, a ritual sacrifice for the Voudon - and a whole seperate room for the Jahovah Witness becaue they aren't allowed to pray in front of people. You'd have no time left for class!

It would be nice if there were one prayer time for everyone. If everyone could just pray together. Thank you for your post!

I agree. Back when we had prayer in the school people did not forget about God. Now we are lawless and debauched. Things wwere much better when we taught respect and Godliness.
