Do you really consider online friend as a real friend? Or you just think them as a timepass option. Do you tell them the thruth about you or you just tell anyhting whatever you feel right at that moment.

I considered online friends as real friends, but they disappointed me so much that now, I considere them just as contacts with which I discuss sometimes: I do not imply myself any more with people that I meet on Internet

Lots of people are there in internet, who don't realize true friendship. There is a big chance to get hurt from this people.

I do not consider them as friends at all becuase most of them are unreal and most of them are frauds jsut talking about frinedship but with no commitment.I think they just do it for fun.

Friendship is based on faith, but on net no one even gives their real name, so it is really very difficult to separate the genuine persons from the crowd. So it is a risky matter I feel. But somehow I do have made some good friends.

That depends .. there are "chat friends" and "online friends" chat friends are just for casual chats and to pass the time .. I don't do that anymore but I used to have chat friends when I first started on the internet years ago.. but now I have a few good "online friends". these are real friends but it just happened that we never met in person, we can talk on voice and cam and feel we are sitting next to each other, those i consider as real friends :)

I'd classify it as an acquaintance more than a friend so to say. I'm an honest person and have no problem telling people the truth about my experiences. I don't really care too much if they lie to me, because if they are I guess they must be covering up something they are ashamed of... If that is the case, then I really could care less if I lose an acquaintance over it... I have met some people on here that I calue their opinions more than others! When I run across some problems that I decide to ask about on mylot. I most often listen to the advice from the people here that I trust the most of the online friends...

I see it both ways, personally... some online friends have become real friends (as in, the friendship has transitioned to real life, phone calls, exchanging cards, etc.) and others will always be online friends only. I am disturbingly truthful, actually. I'm rarely offended by anything someone will ask and, if don't want to answer, I simply say so. I don't lie offline (well, unless the pants really DO make your butt look big and I don't want to hurt your feelings *grin*) so I'm not inclined to do it online. I work online so I think that I have a different approach to some people. The folks that I work with every day are real... but I've never met a majority of them in person. I've learned to get a really good bead on someone through their online persona and can often tell quite quickly if there's someone that I can't trust. I also met my husband online and he's real :) So, I think how I feel about online friends depends on a lot of things... how and where I first met them, what do we have in common, whether or not I feel they have an honest vibe, etc.

It is really hard to trust people nowadays especially if you met them online. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean a lot of them but I met a fellow Pinay (Filipina) online. She saw my site and started to send messages through Yahoo Messenger, Emails and etc. Until we decided to meet in person. Then, after a month or so, she changed! She told my other online friend some bad things about me which isn't true! And besides, to the point that she only knew me for couple of months and she has the nerve to do that? Gosh, it drives me nuts! So from now on, I stay away from those kind of people! Not worthy of my time lol.
