When taking pics....

Canada

When you take pictures, do you tend to stick to family and friends? Or do you like to go out and take pictures of people bustling through town? Or maybe it's the scenery that draws your eyes the most? For me it is a bit of both, at home it's friends and family, even alot of the pets, but when I'm out and about, especially here in Newfoundland, it is the scenery that catches my eye.

I only take phots of family and friends on specail occasions. I love to take my camera everywhere with me and take photos of everything of interest. Sometimes it is the scenery, sometimes a shop window (if it looks unusual) and even sometimes it might be a reckless driver on the roads.

I find myself taking snaps of those "unusual" things as well. Thanks for the response.

I really enjoy taking pictures of my family but I seem to always be on the look out for interesting "things" to take shots of. I live in the Smokey Mountains so there are lots of opportunities to get great scenic shots. There's tons of old buildings and barns surrounded by the mountain. These make great shots also. My family is several hours away so I don't have that much of a chance to take pictures of them.

I would love to but I can't post pictures till 500 post. The picture on my profile is of Dry Falls. It's one of my favorite places because you can go behind the falls. I wish I could share more. It's what made me fall in love with this place. I came here on vacation in May and when I went back to Texas I felt out of place. I told my Mom that I found where God lives. :-) We moved here in August. lol

I love to take pictures of scenery. That is my first choice. But I also do family photos. And recently I've been doing a bit of still life. I also look for some unusual shots. I'll have to dig out my film photos and scan them on the computer. So I can use them here.

That would be fabulous. Sharing your passion for photography is just as fulfilling as taking that 'perfect shot'. Thanks for your response.

I keep a small digital camera with me all of the time and take all kinds of photos, I even take close-up photos of many objects at home trying to be creative with usual things to appear unusual :) on the whole i take photos of buildings/landscapes and objects much more than persons, I loved photography as a kid and the digital camera age has giving me more freedom to do a lot better than I used to do before.

I love to get out and take pictures of interesting scenery and objects. I live in the south US, so there are plenty of Civil War battlefields and old homes. They make great photos, especially black and white or sepia.

Hi Candygurl24! I take pictures mostly of family, but my preference is landscape. Canada has so much beauty and i've only been in 2 provinces.

I take lots of photos of Sports Action. I also take many photos of family. One project I did was taking pictures of my grandaughters cooking. We then made a small cook book for her giving the receipt with pictures.

I tend to stick to pets a lot, but also just shoot about anything I can find. I used to enjoy landscapes the most, now it's pets. But I also shoot objects sometimes and people and just anything interesting. It's so much easier to decide what to take photos of, when you have a digital camera and don't have to worry about how much money you'll spend on film.

I like to go out and just shot anything but I think I tend to shot portrait as I like to capture the human emotion, it's an interesting subject as emotion can change in minutes so I must be really prepare to shot anytime and anywhere.

I take mass amounts of pictures of my daughter, but i would really love to take more pictures of things outside. my town, old stuff around town, pretty things like flowers and gardens. i'm shy thought and i'm scared people would be like HEY YOU! STOP TAKING PICTURES OF MY STUFF! and then i'd cry and run away.

I do agree that outdoor photo ops come up more often, but I believe that the best outdoor photos aren't overplanned, and sometimes the best ones you get are the ones that you aren't expecting to turn out that great. :)

Oh, I love taking pictures and carry my small Powershot with me at all times. On the off chances it is forgotten, I usually end up kicking myself. I shoot buildings, flowers, landscapes, homes, people, animals, friends and fam, and classic cars...it is just fun to frame things and have something to remember where I've been with.

I've never really thought about what I take photos that much. But looking back over my hundreds of photographs i've found that my photos are mostly of scenery and my pets. I've hardly got any photographs of my family even though I see lots of them. In fact I don't tend to take photographs of people that much, it may be because I don't like being photographed myself so I subconsciously don't want to subject other people to something I hate, who knows?

i tnd to go outdoors, 'coz if you only stick to taking pictures of your family or friends you won't be able to develop the "eye" needed for you to make good pictures...beside it would help you to gain eperience if you go out
