It is so busy here in the mornings we hardly ever get a good breakfast. And the breakfast items are some of my favorite things to eat! Sometimes I cook pancakes or eggs for our dinner. Usually hubby wants "real" meal so I only do it every once in a while. What about you?

Probably about once a month, my husband and I cook up a HUGE breakfast for dinner. It really is so huge that it requires the both of us to get it done efficiently. My kids love it, they call it "eating in reverse". We cook up eggs of all different styles (fried, scrambled, omelettes), bacon, sausage, fried ham, home fries, biscuits, pancakes, fresh fruit, english muffins with jelly, etc. I always need a shower after cooking all that greasy food, but it is well worth it!

My mother used to do this for us every once in a while. Since then I have never seen a "Fry-up" as a breakfast but more as a good meal to be enjoyed at anytime of the day. To make it a "proper" meal you could try adding a piece of steak or gammon to it along with the usual items.

I don't think it matters what meal one eats for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's up to your tummy, what it likes and what agrees with. I have done the breakfast for dinner too. Even cereal at times. It's healthy to eat lite anyways, in the evenings.

We love to do breakfast for dinner! :) We'll have blueberry pancakes (I froze pint after pint of fresh berries this past summer and they make great pancakes), waffles, eggs, bagels with cheese and bacon or cream cheese, whatever. One night, we were going to get take-out and no one could decide what they wanted... we weren't in the mood for anything greasy or anything that came with fries! We ended up going to the grocery store and we all picked boxes of cereal and we got plenty of cold milk and THAT was dinner LOL It was GREAT! We told the kids, for that one night, they could have any cereal they wanted (including brands we don't usually buy because they're too sugary or too expensive). Surprisingly, what ended up on the table was Quaker Harvest Crunch, Nestle Quik and one of the flavors of Oatmeal Crisp. (I was expecting MUCH worse LOL) The bonus was we had loads of cereal left over for the rest of the week and didn't spend any more than we would have for take-out (where there wouldn't have been any leftovers!).

I don't find anything wrong with using a breakfast meal as a supper meal. I personally have done this quite often. As it is more convenient, but it also is a nice change at the same time! It's nice to come across someone else who does the same thing we do around our house.. I feel like it's almost like an old stand by for us around our house.. That is to have breakfast for supper! Sometimes we will have things such as pancakes & sausages. Other times we will make bacon & egg sandwiches. One of our favorite things to make with breakfast ingredients! As well I love how english muffins are so inexpensive these days & are so easily kept well in one's freezer. At least this is what I have found when purchasing them! . . Sometimes as well we will make breakfast casseroles. And I then will.. Round up a variety of different toppings & put it right in to the casserole.. Usually it's both ingredients that both me & my other half like in general. Sometimes I will sacrifice & make items he mostly likes, other times he will allow me to put some of my very favorite ingredients as well. That way we both are satisfied at the same time! . . I mean sometimes we will add sausages, other times we will add bacon, sometimes we even will add pepperoni slices. Which are very different but give the meal such a different meaning! . . I find breakfast dishes are just as good enough for dinner. I know some people will find it strange that we do this but I don't find it to be strange at all.. I think it gives supper a slight change & it's nice to have a little change every once in a while.. We don't do it often.. But I love how with a breakfast casserole you can throw as many ingredients as you want in a baking dish & go on your merry way until it's done.. It's so very simple for us to make.. So I know how you feel, as we do the same thing sometimes.. It's a great idea to do this every once in a while I find. Thanks for allowing me to share how we do the same thing around our house as well. And I don't find it at all strange.. I find it to be a very interesting meal these days!

We do this about once a month or so. Because we don't go to work at the sametime, we almost never eat breakfast together (and I can't eat a real heavy breakfast before going to work, anyway) but we both love breakfast food like pancakes and eggs and bacon, so I make them for dinner once in awhile when I don't have anything else on hand. My boyfriend loves it!

Of course. My mom and I love to go to diners that serve breakfast all day just so we can have it for dinner.

We called it "upside down day". We would sometimes have pancakes, hot cereal with toast and fruit for dessert. The kids loved it and I enjoyed not having to make a big dinner. : )

Actually, we have had breakfast for dinner quite often! We do a big breakfast when it is for dinner. He have pancakes, bacon, sausage, tater tots for hash browns, toast or buiscuts and eggs made to order. That is...the eggs are made to the liking of that person. Some of the kids like omelettes...some like them friend and the yoke popped...and some of the others want them to be over medium or over easy. I don't see anything wrong with having breakfast for dinner.

i actually read that there is a new diet where you start you day off with dinner foods and for dinner you eat breakfast foods, because breakfast is not as heavy meal usually and has a fewr calories and that way you are not having thouse extra colories in ur body right before bed. anyways, i sometimes have cereal and eggs for supper, so worries here.

I seem to do this at least once a week. My whole family loves to eat breakfast but we are all on different schedules so we never get to have it in the mornings. There is not one person in my family who will object to me cooking breakfast for dinner. Actually the little ones think that it is a real treat when they get to have their favorite meal at dinner time. My husband is also agreeable to this idea.

I do it on a fairly regular basis. When I was a kid growing up in Scotland we used to always have a fry-up on Friday night for dinner. Sausage, bacon egss...my kids think it is great too.

oh yes, we do that on occassion, sometimes you just have a craving for pancakes, eggs, bacon whatever at night. I've done that with the kids before and they love it, it gives more of a variety if we don't get to eat that typical traditional breakfast.

I do it sometimes but like you say my husband likes meat with his meals. I also heard if you do that everyday you can loose weight. It was just on tv alittle while ago. I dont think I could do that every day.

Oh that is nice, we do that as well. Through the week, it's small breakfasts or cereal. On weekends, a huge breakfast dinner is great! I fix eggs, biscuts and sausage and my husband fixes the pancakes. Sometime we also will have hashbrowns tossed in the mix. I love it, it's nice to have for dinner sometimes.

We have breakfast for dinner at our place sometimes. My teenage daughter thinks it's pretty weird though. She just thinks it's all "backwards" and breakfast doesn't belong on the dinner table. Guess she's like your hubby and wants a "real" meal too!! :-)

As a kid my parents used to have pancakes etc. for supper alot. Now as an adult I still like to have a good omlet anytime of the day just because I like them.
