a doctor's mistake

An ill child was brought to a hospital. After treatment, the mother showed the Doctor a hand-made wallet and said,"there are things we can't pay, i hope you take this wallet i made for you." The Doctor said,"i don't practice for sentimental reasons! Pay me $2000." The lady opened the wallet and took out $5000 and gave the doctor $2000. "You're a very good doctor but i wish you were a better man" the mother said and left..... What's the lesson here in your point of view....

That the wallet could have been worth more I guess... but realistically, people can't work for goods and most people who are going to say they want to pay in something else are going to give something worse less, not more.

That is not entirelly true. As my neighbor and I do not have alot of money. She needs a babysitter, I will babysit. She does not pay me in money. She will buy groceries for me. Give me a ride somewhere. Take my kids for a fews. I could tell you countless things we have done for each other that most people would charge money for. But we have came up with a system to reward each other in helping each other out without the gain of money. But still giving each other what we need. Sometimes it is a whole lot more than that.

Do not judge a book by it's cover.

First I bet he now regrets opening his mouth and should have taken the wallet. But on the other hand if he had and seen to much money I am hoping that he would have just taken whats owed and given what wasn't needed back. People are always to uptight now days and think money money money what if money didn't have any value tomorrow? What good would it be then? Useless, but gifts would still be worth alot.

Hopefully the doctor learned a valuable lesson. The lesson could of been - 1. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Or 2. Be grateful for what get. The doctor took one look at the wallet. Thinking the value was null to none. He wanted his money. If he would of taken the wallet. He would gain more than just money.

Accept what is given with a open heart. You don't know because the saying that comes to mind is appearances are deceiving. He should have willingly took the wallet when she said she didn't have any money. It was his loss.
