I try to keep up with all who leave a comment when I start a disscusion. Is this a waste of time? I kinda feel rude if I don't~do you? Does it help your earnings or does it matter?

I believe that if you start a discussion or debate that it is yours and you have a responsiblity to continue with it. You will get rated better if you are active in your own discussion. I can not see just saying thank you for each response, but what fun is it if you post a discussion then run off and never to return to keep up the conversation. It becomes apparent that you are only here for the pennies that, that post adds to you when a discussion is abandoned.

'.. you will be rated better, if you are active..' With reference to your above comments, i have had different experience. I have hardly commented back to the later reponders of my thread, but it has well past 100 responses, and i am still getting replies on it. May be its an exceptional case, but i am still getting replies. Take Care :)

The mylot guidelines say not to post just thank you comments. If you are going to respond and I think you should then make sure it is to add or actually comment on what people say. I know for myself I don't make a comment to each and every one who posts in my discussions, I rate them all, but I don't comment. Only to ones who have made points that I want to say somethign about, either in agreement or arguement to, or if I have a question about what they stated. I think it's polite to not abandon a discussion once you start it otherwise there is little point in starting one.

True~but I still feel guilty about leaving anyone out if they say something. I don't want to make anyone feel left out. But some comments are lame and don't have a real point. Guess I need to use my time wisely, thanks!

hi, i think the right manner is leaving the comments for your dicussion but if that's too many i don't think me myself could do it too.i give you a secret it gains your money for leaving the comments but i think the comment must be in at least 3 lines.happy writing and happy earning.

Some people don't give you enough to write three lines with! I think it would save me time to weed through and comment to those who give me something to work with. This has been a very insightful discussion so far~thanks!

I respond whenever i have something to say that might further the discussion. As for if that gets me more money , I don't know.

Well, initially, i also tried to respond to all the comments on my postings, but i gradually realised that most of the comments are either formalities or they just dont have enough substance that can motivate me for a natural-eagar response. So i am hardly replying to most of them now. I dont think, most of the people come back to see, if you have responded to their comments, so for me, 'not replying' is better that 'forced replying'. As far as earning are concerned, that can be left to be replied by some senior memebers. This is an intersting point of discussion, that you pointed out. Cheers !

It is hard to comment to someone when they don't leave you much to work with. You made a good point about people coming back to see~I know I haven't. Thanks alot!

I always keep up with the conversations that I contribute to, the biggest reason is that I was interested in the topic to begin with and I want to see where its going to lead. Thats the whole point in conversing.

You are correct and you have a valid point when you say that one has to be active in his thread, it definately helps in maintianing the tempo of the thread. Now that i look back at my thread, i can see that it was not a thread requiring my active participation. It was about asking personal opinion of all individuals for their respective selection of IDs. I guess thats why it got responses, even without me been lately inactive on it, cause it doesnt really require my participation. You are right at that particiaption theory. I believe it generally holds true. Take Care :)

I rate them all who respond to my discussions. But I can't make a comment on all responses. First thing every time I don't have something to say and I don't like to post only the thank you line everytime, because people will get bore. Whenever I feel I can say something or ask something I make a comment. But surely I thank every one from my heart and ofcourse rate every one with a "+".

I would like to get a star one day! I'm still new at this though.

You will get your star at 100 posts. People rate your discussions and responses, and that is how you get the number on it. Judging from your start so far, I think you will be one with a higher rating. Just keep on doing what you're doing!

I like to take the time to go back and rate the comments and at that time I can see if they should be responded to. If some are just short little comments I usually just rate them. but if i see someone new I may go in and say hello and leave a little comment. But i normally respond to those that have added to my discussions.

Just realized the rating on the side. Like I said, I'm new, so I guess I need to learn about rateing. I haven't rated anything. How will that help me? Sorry to be such a "virgin" at this! lol

No it is not a waste of time at all as we do in fact earn for responding to our own discussions even though our number of posts does not increase. I always do my best to get back and respond to as much of my discussions as possible as that is a key part in posting it!!

You shouldn't respond to everyone who responds to your discussions. It would be a complete waste of your time. You don't earn any extra money by replying to them and most of the time no one will come back to see if there is a response.

I have gotten conflicting information regarding that, I've been told that by replying to all that respond it does increase your earnings, that it also shows consideration for them particpating in your discussions, I have also read that picking the best response gets you and your best response paid higher. Not sure what is correct as these aren't in the earn money facts. Guess we will never know unless mylot hears our pleas. Mylot please explain how we get paid?? LOL Good luck to you here at mylot!

It isn't rude at all. You don't know how many will answer and you can't have the time to go and look for 100 people into their topics on which you also might give an answer, maybe a quick look to see and than if you find something, you could check it out, but else it is quite a waste of your time cause you could find topics you are really interested easier browsing through the site normally I think.

Hi. I have quite a few posts or discussions that I have started. It is hard to keep up with all of them daily, but I respond to as many of them who posts on my discussions that I can each day. the next day, I go backinto my discussions and post some more responses to whoever responded to me. I know it is hard to keep up with all of them, but if you do some each day, you may get caught up alittle on them. Thats what I try to do. Im sure sure how much it matters on earnings and such but I reply to discussions if they need replied to. Hope this helps ya.

As far as I know, we are not encouraged to leave comments that does not have any substances in it. comments like "Thank you" or "Yes" "no" are not encouraged. But I see you do spend your time replying to comments which I think is very nice of you. :D
