Meeting Friends We Met Online 4 Years Ago.

Well actually, we met Eric online 4 years ago. His fiance, Jeannie, came into the picture a little later on. Eric is from Holland. We met him when we were online in Paltalk. We struck up a great friendship. He met Jeannie and moved to the USA. They are finally tying the knot! We are going to travel to meet them and to attend their wedding. It has been a long 4 years and it is about time!

That's great, it's good to hear a happy story about internet friendships. How exciting, for you. My uncle has been talking to a woman from Indonesia he met online on a christian message board. He went to see her at christmas. It's a darn good thing she was an honest person. He was very ill while there. He had to go to the hospital in Jakarta. He had to pay cash for everything in the hospital and his platelet(sp) count was so low he needed several blood transfusions. She got volunteers from her local misitry group. They were all very nice and now he has several friends there rather than just one. Now they are planning on marrying. She is trying to get a fiance visa.

That is great. You are hearing of more and more successful internet relationships these days. When I met my hubby, people were really weirded out by it.

good for you! you find good friends online and now will met them personally and to think that invited you to his wedding and you will travel some miles to met them is a nice story to hear. i like meeting friends but i cant go on chat on someplace like pal talk, its not my place,,

That's awesome! I hope you have a nice time. My best friend Saurav that I met online is from Bangladesh and recently moved to England. I'm still waiting for him to come here! We've been friends for around 5 or 6 years.

Its so wonderful when you are able to meet friends that you met online. I have been able to do this quite often and I am very thankful for that. I only wish that most of the ones I have met lived near me so that we could have more of a day to day friendship.

wow!! you are lucky buddy!!! well i hope you have got your pals some wonderful wedding present!! so you are meeting after 4 years eh? i hope you hut off as well as you did online! i met my boyfriend online and i was so excited when i met him 1 year aftr chatting!! so i guess i can understand your excitement!!!!!!!!!

I don't think in the nine years I have been conversing online I have ever met with anyone at all .. certainly none I can remember ... in fact I am sure of it .. never met anyone in the flesh ..
Did you find that your friend was just as you had expected him to be from the online chat or was he quite different .. I build up little pictures in my head of what I think folks will be like .. but if I see a photo of them they are usually nothing like I had expected ..

Hubby looked the same as his pictures. He was hyper though, but I think it was because he was nervous.

Wow that's great! I know you are so excited to attend their wedding. Really its such a happy feeling to meet someone you know through only net and meeting him after a long time chating relation.

That is way cool, it's not very often that a person is lucky enough to meet someone online and for it to turn out so well. Most cases that I have heard of end up in tradgedy or heart break. Have a great time at your friends' wedding.

I think that it is really great that you are finally getting to meet a friend from online! I have had some really great friends online throughout the years, but most of them live far enough away that I have not met them. One girl did travel down here years ago, named Miki. I think that she is the only internet friend who lived out of state (I live in Missouri, she lives in Michigan) whom I have ever met. I did meet someone named Joyce once who I met online who just happened to live around here, though! ^_^ But I have really met some of the best people online, and it would be lovely to meet more of them in person! ^_^

what a nice story is this!!! and did he meet Jeannie online, too? what nice!!! you are going to their wedding!!! from online to reality, from Holland to USA, from a web reading and writing to a true and great friendship..i hope I can have a story like this to tell one day or another...congratulations on your friendship and wish a happy life together for them!!!
